During my 35-year run as a writer and editor, I tried a bit of everything before finally finding my home in the glorious madness of narrative design. I've paid the bills as a comedy writer (stand-up, sketch, radio) and newspaper editor. I wrote a comic-book series endorsed by Clive Barker and edited many many others, including a whole lot of books for Scout Comics. I wrote/directed the horror movie THE WRONG HOUSE and played monsters in several other films. For the video game EPIC TAVERN, I created hundreds of quests, more than 150 playable characters with unique backstories, and did extensive worldbuilding. For MURDER ON THE MIDWAY (which I also coded), I designed dialogue trees and created a fully-functioning traveling carnival loaded with dozens of memorable characters. I recently cowrote the 10-episode audio series UNDERTOW: BLOOD FOREST and wrote the standalone audio ghost story RETURN TO BLACKOUT POINT, both of which were produced and distributed by Realm. I thrive on complexity, I have a quiet, dedicated home office deep in the Maine wilderness and impeccable references as a remote writer and editor. It is my firm belief that having worked in damn-near every storytelling medium known to humankind has prepared me to handle anything a project throws at me.

I am an avid reader who has turned my love of books into a freelance career. My portfolio is diverse, ranging from children's books and poetry to historical nonfiction. Although I specialize in the more fantastical genres, I am always looking for new and diverse projects. Along with basic proofreading and copywriting, I enjoy the challenge of deep editing with special focus on detail and ensuring each piece flows with a consistent and captivating voice. My time spent learning to hand craft books, from setting type and running the presses to tooling and binding the leather, has given me a unique appreciation for the written word. As an author myself, I understand how important it is to have a constructive working relationship between writer and editor. This is why I make it a point to establish an open line of prompt and thorough communication with my clients to create the best partnership possible. I am always open to learning new things in the wonderful world of writing, so please feel free to contact me with any inquiries. *Please note that I am a very open-minded creative. I am comfortable working with many diverse and explicit subjects, so please don't hesitate to ask about non-traditional projects.
