I have over 35 years of bilingual (English/Spanish) writing and translation experience. I have taught English to Spanish speaking people of all ages, and Spanish to English speakers in schools, institutions, and through private tutoring. As an indie publisher, I have edited, formatted, and published books which have won awards for both content and quality of formatting/publication. I also have over 15 years experience with creating and editing newsletters, brochures, and other business documents. I am experienced in social media, and have been responsible for handling all social media for groups, businesses, and organizations. I have been published and won awards for my writing in several genres, including creative non-fiction, journalism, poetry, short stories, and plays, including some which have been produced and performed. I have nearly two decades of administrative experience and customer service in a variety of settings. Service Description: I provide translation services for all types of documents. Whether one page or book length, your project will get the same dedication to detail. I am completely bilingual and know that I can provide a true translation that is one that does not translate only the words, but the actual meaning. Actual word for word translation is not always accurate. Depending on the context of the sentence, the exact word translation could be offensive and not the actual meaning which was supposed to be conveyed. I offer formatting services for manuscripts, particularly for Amazon KDP (previously CreateSpace) specifications, as well as editing and translation services. I have well over a decade of editing newsletters, web content, and other documents for a college academic department, a church, a library, and other various kinds of businesses.BookLatin American Spanish AccentNewsletter WritingNonfictionFormattingFiction WritingCreative WritingBook EditingEnglish to Spanish TranslationSpanish to English TranslationEnglishSpanishProofreading - $65 hourly

Book design is my passion! I've been a student of typography and have had a love of books since I began reading at the age of three. • Highly experienced professional book designer and book typesetter, awarded Upwork Top-Rated and Pro Designer Status Plus, Private Talent Cloud status, and Certified Editorial Design. • Specializing in custom interior book design and typesetting for authors and publishers across the globe. • Work with a commitment to excellence. • I work with you and your printer to help ensure that your files are trouble-free when it comes time to print. • I am well-versed in KDP print on demand, IngramSpark, and LightningSource book setup specs. I'll gladly work with your printer as needed. • I also offer ebook conversion for epub and mobi and other digital platforms. What clients say: ________________________ “Sue of JustYourType knows book design and typesetting like Michael Jordan knows basketball." -Mark Kuta, author, "Think Like a Ceo" Gold Medal Book Award _________________________ Sue’s attention to detail and ability to see a project through from start to finish amidst extenuating and stressful circumstances is unparalleled. We hired her for an extremely intense InDesign project that resulted in 2200 total pages across five separate fully-styled books. The books were for an international project with an 8 hour time difference and a language barrier. We originally intended for her to be our only designer, but quickly learned that we’d need more personnel to stay on deadline, so we hired two more designers and Sue ran the entire team. She had a very clear and logical system, and oversaw the work of the entire design team, as well as doing much of the work. Despite the multitudes of challenges and obstacles thrown at Sue and our team as we worked on these books, she completed the project with pinpoint accuracy, an incredible eye for detail, and a willingness to go above and beyond our expectations in both speed of work and availability. She was also a quick and efficient communicator with a solid work ethic and a persevering attitude. Anyone who hires her should consider themselves extremely lucky! Marie Casias Manager, Marketing & Administration TIG _________________________ "I never even THINK about hiring anyone else as a book designer for my books. Sue is just that good." -joneborne _________________________ “Sue’s creative and artistic book design captured the mythic flavor of "The Stillness of Love and Exile.” The exquisite layout was a major reason the judges at the Independent Book Award selected my book as a Silver Medalist for Best Fiction. Great book designer!” -Rosa Martha Villarreal, The Stillness of Love and Exile Award-winning Book Designer: 2008 - 2014 PubWest, IPPY, and Axiom Business Books Awards. _________________________BookEbook DesignAdobe AcrobatPrint DesignAdobe InDesignAdobe PhotoshopEditorial DesignGraphic DesignTypesettingTypography - $95 hourly

I have been a book lover for as long as I can remember, and I have read what I estimate to be a thousand or so books, mainly fantasy, in my fifteen years. Through my reading, I have developed an excellent sense of grammar, so I catch mistakes quite frequently. I also have a terrific memory for plot details, and I often notice, even in my very favorite books, small inconsistencies, such as the author forgetting that his or her main character has a certain supernatural ability or that the names of a character and her mother are suddenly switched. I feel that these skills will make me an ideal proofreader. I am also currently learning French, and both reading and writing in it come naturally to me. It generally bothers me when the adjective does not match the gender of the noun, as in "bête gross odieux," which, to the best of my knowledge should be "bête grosse odieusse," meaning "fat, odious beast," as "bête," the word for "beast," is feminine. This may be a essential skill for proofreading books involving French-speaking characters.BookProofreadingSewingEnglishEditing & Proofreading - $30 hourly
