I am a passionate, warm, and intuitive writer and editor. I find great joy in bringing ideas to life and fine-tuning books, stories, and content to be the best it can be. I write and edit content for SEO work, do developmental edits for fiction and non-fiction ebooks, memoirs, blog content, and product manuals, and I regularly write stories for the non-profit organisation, Library For All, and Save the Children. I have written for Tim Harris’ Primary Writer’s Project and Youkie kids' magazine. I was recently thrilled to write a Christmas story for the Miffy franchise, and I have helped many authors bring their stories to life. Presently, I have been successful in authoring the following titles: 'Bubbles and Puddles" "Ella and Star" I'm more than happy to collaborate and help my clients take their projects to the next level and learn along the way. Bringing personal stories to life and sharing them with the world is for me the most satisfying work. I feel honored to be a part of such special stories and put my heart into such projects Taking on many and varied projects has been a great learning experience. I help authors, educational brands, publishers, and children’s media companies develop emotionally engaging, age-appropriate content that connects with young audiences and gets discovered by parents, educators, and communities searching for it. As a Licensed Early Childhood Educator and Certified Peer Counsellor, I bring developmental insight, educational expertise, and classroom experience into all my work. My work as a developmental editor and writing coach focuses on helping children's content connect with its intended audience. This remains my primary goal, whether I am strengthening a story, developing educational resources, supporting curriculum goals, or creating content for children, parents, and educators. For more than 15 years, I have worked at the intersection of early childhood education, children's media, publishing, and digital content creation. This experience allows me to approach projects through both an educational and editorial lens while keeping the needs of children, parents, educators, and organizations in mind. Types of projects I am currently interested in include: • Children's developmental editing (picture books to full manuscripts) • SEL storytelling (drawing on classroom experience) • EdTech (educational content development) • SEO (blog writing, website optimization and link building) • Content strategy (print, online and multimedia) My background includes serving as the former Managing Editor of BC Parent Magazine (both print & online), for one of British Columbia's leading parenting publications. I also contributed as a guest blogger and educational content creator for parenting and youth-focused platforms including Vancouver Mom, FindMyKids, and Kidzworld USA. In addition to editorial work, I have written SEO-focused web content for schools, educational brands, and early learning organizations. This includes landing pages and blog content. I also offer audits and link building for educational websites and blogs, helping schools, children's brands, and parenting organizations strengthen their content strategy, improve search visibility, and better connect with parents, educators, and prospective families. Through my own blog and social media channels at Kids News & Reviews, which expands to Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube, I have built strong organic search visibility within the parenting and early learning space, with nearly 200 backlinks, 87 referring websites, first-page Google rankings, and educational content that continues to attract long-term organic traffic and engagement. Over the years, my work has taken me from preschool classrooms and music programs to parenting publications, children's media, curriculum development, and educational product reviews. I have also enjoyed mentoring kids and teens as they develop their own stories, articles, books, songs, and creative projects. As both an educator and content creator, I regularly bring books, toys, music, educational products, and curriculum resources into my classroom. I do this by creating unique reviews that incorporate student experiences and my personal perspective as a preschool teacher and early learning music educator. Whether you need a developmental edit for your latest story or book, curriculum support, or strategic guidance for your children’s media, I bring a collaborative, developmentally informed approach by focusing on emotional connection, educational value, and audience engagement. Paid sample edits and editorial consultations are available to ensure the right fit before beginning larger projects.

I'm a freelance writer specialising in: - creative writing - ghostwriting - writing for children - educational materials (particularly primary school, or TEFL) - article writing - travel writing - editing and proofreading I graduated from Bath Spa University in 2011 with 1st class hons in Creative Writing and English, after which I spent five years living in Asia (China and Japan) where I was working as a freelance writer and TEFL teacher. These days I am a frequent contributor to several TEFL and travel websites. As an experienced language teacher, I specialise in working with those who use English as a second language. I also have much experience of materials with children as their target audience (as I have worked with many different textbooks during my time as a teacher, as well as making my own graded materials and specialising in writing for children during my time at University) and so any creative writing, editing or article writing to do with children would be my cup of tea. I pride myself in sticking to deadlines, working professionally and neither overselling nor underselling my abilities. I have an excellent command of the English language and also speak basic Chinese and Japanese. Contracts I love include: - writing stories for children, ghostwriting children's books and creating educational materials. Whether it's creating a modern version of a well-known folk story or creating original content on a chosen theme, ghostwriting for children is my specialist topic - writing colloquial, easy-to-read travel articles, especially with listicle features and awesome destinations (I specialise in Japan, China, and the UK - particularly my niche of the Channel Islands) - I'm always interested in long-term, professional contracts with top clients If you are interested in hiring me to help with your projects, please get in contact. I look forward to hearing from you.

"Writing stories for children to love." I am a published children’s book author who has been writing for children for over 30 years. It is my joy and passion to write books, stories, and articles for kids that uplift, entertain, educate, and edify. Many people think writing for children is easy, that all you have to do is “dumb down” the language for kids to understand. On the contrary, there are many things to consider when writing for children that some writers don’t know or think about. Children are a discerning audience, and they deserve respect. A 2,000-word picture book for children 4-8 years old is probably not going to sell to publishers. Why? Because the typical children’s picture book is only about 500 words, 1,000 words at the most. (Of course, if you're self-publishing, you're free to break the rules.) If you want to author a rhyming children’s book, make sure the rhyme is perfect (think Dr. Seuss); otherwise, don’t bother. These are just a few things to consider; there are more. A well-written, engaging story is what children (and parents) look for. As an experienced children’s writer and editor, I can help your story stand out from the rest. Making you look good with a job well done is my ultimate reward. That's my idea of success.
