Hi, I'm Jo. I love creative writing, crafting and horse riding. I started writing for my friends as part of a writing circle at university (I have a BA in Archaeology and an MA in museum studies) and went on to self published the result. After university I put writing on hold and worked in administration for eight years before leaving when I had my first daughter. After she was born I took up writing again and penned my first children's book (illustrated by my father). Since then I have gone on to write two further picture books and a short chapter book for children, all of which available on Amazon. More recently I've ghostwritten several children's books and stories for Upwork clients and began to work on a few YA fiction projects too. I have written product descriptions before for Etsy items and also worked on display descriptions in a museum setting, created quizzes and meditations. My current published works - - Squirly Squirrel - There's a Dinosaur in my Soup - T-rex ate my toothbrush - A Pup Called Shaefer - Quest for the Dragon's Eye (under pen name)

I’m a British editor, ghostwriter, writer and voice artist, with experience across books, personal development, children’s content, education, meditation, wellbeing and digital publishing. I’m Top Rated on Upwork with 100% Job Success across more than 50 projects. Editing is a significant part of my work. I provide developmental and structural editing, line and copyediting, proofreading, rewriting, and manuscript support. Recent projects include the developmental edit of a forthcoming personal-development book; detailed pre-publication editing of a complex specialist nonfiction manuscript; substantive editing of a 370+ page published nonfiction book; and extensive developmental, line and copyediting of a published children’s novel. I’m particularly interested in the relationship between the detail and the whole. I notice where the sentence isn’t quite working, or the chapter is in the wrong place; I recognise where the idea needs more room or the repetition that is slowing everything down; I validate the section that is already doing exactly what it needs to do. I edit closely without imposing a generic voice on the writing, keeping author's voice intact and in flow. I also ghostwrite books and long-form content. My work includes several published children’s books, a complete 30-day self-love journal, personal-development and transformational writing, educational material, non-fiction books, meditation and sleep content, and narrative work. I’m comfortable developing a project from an early idea, working from rough source material, or stepping into an existing manuscript that needs shaping and finishing. I was formerly Head of Content & Meditation at Moments of Space, where I led editorial direction and brand voice, wrote extensively both inside and outside of the app, and edited and developed work by other writers. I’ve also created meditation, mindfulness, sleep, and wellbeing content for a wide range of apps and private clients. Alongside writing and editing, I’m an experienced British voice artist with a naturally warm, low-toned RP voice and a professional home studio. I’ve recorded hundreds of guided meditations, sleep stories, visualisations, and other pieces of spoken content, as well as children’s and narrative work. My background is in language, literature, education, and performance. I have a First Class BA in Film, Drama & Literary Studies, an MA, a PGCE in Secondary English with QTS, and a TEFL qualification. When I’m editing someone else’s manuscript or finding the voice for a ghostwritten book, writing an original piece, or recording it, I tend to care passionately about the same things. For me, what matters is language, rhythm, meaning, audience, and getting the details right.

Lovely to connect! I am the best-selling author of over seventy fiction titles for children and Young Adults, published in more than twenty languages and selling well over a million copies worldwide. I love to work on writing (incl. ghostwriting) and editing projects across fiction, narrative non-fiction, script writing, books, blogs, e-books, articles and website content creation. Interviewing you or your clients, handling transcription and creating Golden Business Card books for your wellbeing or coaching business is a speciality. So is ghostwriting, helping you craft and structure, and/or editing your children's and spirituality books. Let's make your writing and publishing dreams a reality! As I'm experienced as an author mentee too so I could be a good fit for you if you'd like a hybrid service - for example, to try writing all or some of your own book but with support and guidance (emotionally as well as technically!). You may want to explore co-writing or need more intense help with structure, exploration of their key messages, what they want to share with the world etc. I bring my skills as an intuitive guide and energy healing facilitator to this process too, if invited, as creative work is such a holistic process! I have a special interest in self-help, wellbeing, coaching and empowerment projects particularly in relation to women or young people/children, breathwork, mindfulness, embodied awareness and quantum consciousness (and all the new science!). I have over twenty years experience as a pro writer and editor in the areas of wellbeing, holistic living, coaching, spirituality, yoga, mindfulness, meditation, NDEs, writing for children and finding and telling soul-led brand story. I also have a marketing background (see below for details), so while we work on your book, we'll always have your whole IP and brand in our minds and hearts too. We'll work with an eye and ear on the through line to market. I am the founder of Soulsparks, a soul-led online wellbeing platform offering energy healing, intuitive guidance, breathwork and creative mentorship. I've recently created the Soulsparks Toolkit, a video, audio and PDF resource to guide people into mindfulness, awareness, peace, clarity and harmony. I'm quick, creative and skilled at creating websites in Squarespace and PDF / SM resources in Canva. I have worked for Happy Living.com across books, blogs and marketing content, worked in brand marketing as a WPP Fellow and copywriter under the personal mentorship of industry legend Jeremy Bullmore. I've also written and edited a marketing book project with Emeritus Professor of Marketing and Management at London Business School, Patrick Barwise, and created captions and subtitles in Premiere Pro for a women's football film commissioned by FIFA. I'm currently creating a book of clients' stories for a top divorce coach, all the way from client interviews to final proofread and e-book creation. I'd love to connect if you feel we might be a good match! All the very best, and go create! Kelly x

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ''I made the mistake of hiring another writer first, paid good money for what turned out to be beautifully written nonsense. It looked nice on the surface but had zero soul, zero strategy. I was gutted. That sinking feeling of knowing you've wasted time, money, and momentum? I felt that hard. Then I found her. A total saviour. I felt seen. She didn't just write the book, she channeled my vision and made it better than I ever imagined. It hits harder, connects deeper, and actually converts. Now we're on our 3rd book together!'' — 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐀., 𝟑𝐱 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 ❌ Clients don't hire me just because I'm a 𝐓𝐎𝐏-𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐞𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐆𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫. ✅ They hire me because they've seen what the wrong writer costs. Not just money. Momentum. Months. The version of the book that lived in their head before someone flattened it into something forgettable. 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄'𝐒 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐍𝐎𝐁𝐎𝐃𝐘 𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐇𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑: A writer who sounds good in a proposal isn't the same as a writer who thinks strategically about your book. Most clients can't tell the difference until the manuscript lands in their inbox and something feels off. The voice is close but not quite right. The chapters are clean but somehow lifeless. The deadline was met but the vision wasn't. And somewhere underneath that disappointment lives a fear most clients never say out loud: that maybe the idea itself was the problem. That maybe their vision wasn't as strong as they thought. That the book failing was on them. 𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧'𝐭. 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭. 𝐈𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐬. You're not a writer. You were never supposed to know how to spot the difference between someone who can string sentences together and someone who can carry a vision from the first page to the last without dropping it. You trusted the process. The process let you down. That's on the industry. Not on you. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐦𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. ⚠️ 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: Working with me may cause side effects like 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧 #𝟏 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, readers leaving five-star reviews before they've had their morning coffee ☕⭐, and a dangerous addiction to publishing your next book without blinking twice. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭. If your idea has the balls to 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, it deserves to 𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝. 🌍🚨 Amazon's Kindle market is hitting $1.25 billion annually. Self-published authors are cashing in with books that aren't half as good as yours. So why not you? 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤. 𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞. 🔥 Here's what that looks like in practice: A self-help author came to me after her first book stalled at 11 reviews and flatlined. She had the framework, the credibility, the audience. What she didn't have was a book that made readers feel something before they'd finished chapter two. We rebuilt the narrative from the inside out. Six weeks after relaunch: 4.9 stars, 190+ reviews, and a reader who forwarded it to her entire company leadership team. She came back for book two before book one had been live a month. A romance author came to me after her series lost momentum between books — readers loved book one but dropped off before book two launched. The problem wasn't the story. It was pacing, tension, and a second-act that stopped pulling. We fixed the arc, tightened the heat, and sharpened the cliffhanger. Book two outsold book one in its first three weeks. She hasn't worked with another writer since. That's not coincidence. That's what happens when strategy and soul are in the same manuscript. 🧨 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐈 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 👉 Business books that made CEOs weep with joy 👉 Self-help guides that went viral on Amazon 👉 Steamy romances that exploded Kindle charts 👉 Cookbooks shared more than family recipes 🍲❤️ Over 7 years. Billionaires, yogis, coaches, spiritual leaders, keto chefs, and fantasy-fueled hopeless romantics. I've been there. I've written it. I've sold it. You're next. 🧠 𝐌𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 👉 A focused brief that pulls the real gold out of your vision — no endless back-and-forth 👉 Voice-matching so precise it'll unsettle your closest friends 😱 👉 Chapter-by-chapter delivery with milestones on or ahead of schedule — always 👉 Every revision turned around in 48 hours. No chasing. No silence. No surprises. Now picture your book six weeks from now. A stranger finishes the last page at midnight, tags three people, and orders a second copy for someone they love. Your inbox has a message that says it changed something. And you're already talking to me about the next one. That's not a fantasy. That's the pattern. Send a message and here's what happens first: I'll tell you exactly what your book needs 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫. 🔥
