I'm an editor and typesetter. Does it make me odd that I love commas and ellipses? I primarily do line editing, copyediting, and proofreading. I also love typesetting and formatting even though looking for stacks and ladders and spacey lines is a dying art. I received my BA in English, creative writing. While at school, I learned the ins and outs of editing and publishing with the student journal, and since then I've edited and formatted freelance and with many new and experienced authors and several long-term clients. I also currently edit and format for Splinter Press.

I am a freelance print and web designer with a client list that includes some of the nation’s top business, publishing and high-tech companies. Businesses like Amazon, CarFAX, The National Wildlife Federation, MIT, American Bar Association, and The American Gas Association can all attest to my award-winning work. Soon, I hope you’ll be able to do so, too. I began freelancing in early 1999 after a successful tenure as the creative director for the magazine group at Potomac, MD-based Phillips International, a leading publisher with $350 million in annual sales. While heading the design department, I oversaw the creative direction of nine magazines, seven of which I redesigned. The job also required close coordination and communication with the company’s web development team. My mission is simple. I provide complete, high-quality graphic and web design solutions that help clients meet marketing, sales and publishing objectives. I have a proven track record of delivering top-notch products, from four-color ads in national print magazines and sales marketing collateral to handling every aspect of the magazine publishing process. And it’s all done with the guarantee of fast, cost-effective and friendly service. I truly understand the demands of custom publishing, whether the finished product is a brochure, industry white paper or web site. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Copyediting is my passion! My areas of expertise are line editing, copy editing, and proofreading. I have been the copy editor and final read for the New York Times best-selling author Dianna Love and many other authors for almost fifteen years. Dianna writes romance/fantasy fiction, crime thrillers, and young adult fantasy fiction. I do the copy editing and find 95% of the mistakes. Next, a couple of others proofread it. Then I do the final read, ensuring it is 100% clean and error-free. I do all the steps for my other authors. I recently worked as a copy editor for a law firm, verifying that all documents (trusts, wills, and correspondence) left the office 100% clean and error-free. Besides copyediting and proofreading, I am also an excellent writer. I have helped two first-time authors with great stories, but they needed almost every sentence rewritten. That is one extreme. All the authors I have worked with have published their work. I have been fortunate to develop a fantastic rapport with every author I have ever worked with. Excellent communication is critical. With a sharp eye for detail, my efficiency is unmatched, ensuring your project is completed on time. My knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and AP style, coupled with my bachelor’s degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, further guarantees the quality and efficiency of my work, giving you confidence in my ability to meet deadlines. I offer two pricing options to accommodate different budget restraints: a flat rate per word and an hourly rate. My flat rate is between $.035 and $.05 per word, and my hourly rate is between $40 and $55. My rates are negotiable, especially for long-term, ongoing work. Most people do better by the hour unless the project is highly labor-intensive. I offer the best of both options, giving you the most beneficial rate. If my hourly wages hit the total quote for “by the word,” I will stop timing, so you receive the lowest rate. This is my process. I do the first read (copyediting and line editing) using the tracking feature on Microsoft Word and find 95% of the mistakes. I will send it to you so you can accept/reject the edits and respond to the comments. You don’t have to accept every edit. It is more important to reject the edits you DON’T want and respond to the comments/questions. Then, you will return it to me for a second read (proofreading). I will begin with a clean copy and read it again. We will continue this process (usually only two reads are required) until your document is 100% clean and error-free. The completion time is based on how many words are in the document and how quickly you return the first read to me. I have copyedited and proofread over eighteen novels by New York Times best-selling author Dianna Love. Some other books I have worked on include: • 70 50 10: The Journey to an Entrepreneurial Legacy by Mike Russell and Visionary Writing (Amazon) • Black Diamond: The Fourth Missing Bullet by B. Frank Hall (Amazon) • Can God Use Me? by Kristine Kimmel (Amazon) • Courage for America by Jackie Arnold (Amazon) • Mulberry Creek by Harry Bach (Amazon) • Five Indelible Men by S. Z. Mustafa (Amazon) • Ikhla’s Butterfly by S. Z. Mustafa (Amazon) • The High School of Low Blows by Rosie Medero • People and Plants by Desiree Delcourt • The Best Adventure Ever by Mathew Jensen (Amazon) • Lifemap for Teens by Mathew Jensen (Amazon) • The Sales Engineer’s Playbook by Darel D. Ison II • Money Laundering and Compliance in Football by Ibrahim ElOraby (Amazon) • Happy Monday: Designing Your Dream Career by Nathan Stuck and Visionary Writing (Amazon) • Practice Pathfinder Blueprint by Mathew Jensen (Amazon) • Original Human Beings by Dr. Tim White (just completed, not yet published) • A Café in Paris by Glenn Ritt (Amazon) • The Hypocrisy of the Church by James E. Allen • The Prescription for Overcoming by Dr. Annetta Alexander (Purpose Publishing) • Speak, But Not For Me by Enock Menge (Amazon) • Sun Tzu’s Art of War in The Battlefield of Project Management by Puneet Kuthiala • Three books published by Castle Vale Publishers Ltd. -Stop Overthinking It -Sky Soldiers -The Great UN Reset • Twenty-four Ruthless Romance Novels I am a natural-born proofreader and an excellent candidate for your job. If you send me a message, I can send you my resume and a document with the dedication from the book that New York Times best-selling author Dianna Love dedicated to me and other authors’ acknowledgments. Please send me a few sample pages of your work to edit so you can see how I can help.

As a retired attorney, judge, and business school professor, I've applied my expertise to subjects ranging from an analysis of the UK's system of dual-class shares, to whether the legal definition of genocide should encompass political grounds, to the environmental aspects of fast fashion, and everything in between. I recently edited and indexed a book on the unique problems of employing those with criminal histories, which was published in 2024 by Springer Nature. I have also edited nearly a dozen travel and how-to books for CZYK Publishing, an independent publisher in the United States. Gratefully, 15 years ago, my first book was picked up by Harper Collins, debuted on Amazon at #1, and enjoyed massive publicity to the point of becoming an answer on Jeopardy(!). I've been a professional creative writer ever since, as a fiction and nonfiction book author, co-author and ghostwriter - except for the fact I also love filmmaking and screenwriting and have, again gratefully, worked directly with my fair share of Academy Award-winning producers and directors here in LA. I'm passionate about all writing and I love what I do! I can - ghostwrite your piece the way I have for major publishers. - co-author with you the way I did on a book that debuted at #1 on Amazon in true crime. - coach you through writing your book or script like I have with dozens of writers. - consult with you on story/ rewrite your script the way I have with Oscar-winning directors and producers. - help you create content and articles that grab and keep eyeballs, the way I have for Oracle VPs, etc. I also know what it's like to bare your soul and invite others to help with your creative work. It's a little bit like standing naked on a stage and I know it's not easy. I hire friends, editors, and writers to read and edit my own work all the time - we are all in this together, and we can all use help! Also deep down in my resume is the fact I've been both a high school and university Literature and Writing teacher so - I have all the grammar and style stuff covered, and I've got an extra dose of patience. It's always a priority to maintain the right voice (usually, yours) while still crafting a page-turner that absolutely nails every single beat of story structure. I'm highly collaborative and easy to work with, partially because I've, well, seen it all. Fiction, nonfiction, film, television, web3, true crime, YA, fantasy, memoir, travelogue, medical, whistleblower, biography, technical writing, comedy, drama, content creation, you name it, I've written or edited it. Apart from my nonfiction and fiction book authoring and editing, I have 25 years of experience as a filmmaker - as script supervisor, development, casting director, editor, and composer. I've done quite a bit of various film and TV work at the highest levels over the years, always training myself to learn every facet of both the literary and filmmaking worlds. When it comes to screenwriting, it sure helps to have that kind of production experience. I always look at every project - book or film, from poetry to biz docs - from a holistic, high angle view in terms of commercial viability as well as artistic integrity. It always starts with theme. So the first question is - what do you care about? What do you need people to hear? Then we drop some structure on it, pay special attention to the voice - and work it till we're happy :) I'm here to help and happy to chat. And for the heck of it, apart from the fact that I've had 6-figure book deals with Harper Collins and The Pegasus Books Group, here are some other individuals and entities I've worked with, directly: Sean Penn, Roland Emmerich, Spike Lee, Kevin Smith, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chris Carter, Mark Gordon, Emile Hirsch, Scott Rudin, Jim Carrey, Mel Gibson, Heath Ledger, Jackie Chan, Jennifer Garner, Mark Hamill, Meat Loaf Aday, Jack Douglas (music producer—John Lennon), Ziggy Marley, Damian and Julian Marley, Brandy, Third World, Shabba Ranks, Shaggy, Fran Drescher, David Levy (Robert Altman producer), Ed Saxon (producer Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, Beloved), Larry Cano (producer, Silkwood), Niels Juul (producer Martin Scorsese, Michael Mann), Roger Corman, an Elder Scroll founder, Nebula and Hugo Award-winning YA author Nnedi Okorafor, Sony, Dreamworks, Walden, Centropolis, WB, MTV, Paramount, NBC, CBS, FOX, and my own indie films as writer/ director/ producer/ editor have gone to festivals including Montreal and Gasparilla. Whew! If you got this far - thanks!

The final product was fantastic.” We may be a great fit if you are looking for an illustrator who: • Delivers consistent work that matches the quality of their portfolio work • Produces the work on time • Will revise the work to meet what you envision • Can match an existing style to maintain consistency of a project Working with me, you will receive: • Excellent illustrations backed by classical drawing skills • Consistent work over multiple illustrations • Work featuring diverse, well-developed characters and detailed settings and backgrounds • Preliminary sketches and communication every step of the way, you will always know exactly how the project is advancing. I have over seventeen years of experience as a commercial artist. Creating art is my passion. I practice daily to constantly expand my skillset. I frequently work in pencil, ink, marker, acrylic, and colored pencil and can also combine the mediums. In addition to Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, I am also very well-versed in Affinity programs: Designer, Photo, and Publisher, as well as Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and Krita. If this sounds like a good fit, click the green “Invite to Job” button in the top right-hand corner, send me a message and we can take it from there. *One advantage to traditional work: since physical artwork is created, it can be very helpful to crowdfunding campaigns to have the original artwork offered as a stretch goal reward.

Hello, my name is Jeff Rudolph, and I am a book manuscript copyeditor and proofreader. I have helped numerous authors and small publishers get their manuscripts cleaned up and ready to present to the world. I consider fantasy and historical fiction my specialities, but I've worked numerous genres including romance, religion, how-to, poetry, business, education, and more. As a copyeditor, it is my job to make sure all the mechanical elements of your writing--spelling, grammar, etc.--are clean and error-free. It is also my job to make sure that everything reads well by looking at phrasing and word choice and making changes where necessary (while making sure to retain your voice within your writing). Finally, I keep an eye out for things like factual errors and plot holes that may have slipped through previous drafts. As a proofreader, I serve as a final pair of eyes at the end of the editorial process to catch any remaining errors that managed to slip through previous steps. Specifically, the proofreader's role is to perform a final sweep to catch those last few mechanical errors that managed to sneak past the copyeditor, and to check for any formatting issues that may have been introduced or missed during the formatting/layout process. So if you're looking to get your manuscript ready for publishing, please feel free to contact me.
