I've written features for 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., Happy Madison, and Bad Robot. I've also done short-form comedy material for entities like The Onion, HBO, and National Lampoon. I've written faith-based material for PureFlix, Super Bowl commercials, and am the Head Writer for Monarch Wine - a digital magazine devoted to vino and music. I work swiftly without sacrificing quality and am adept in a number of genres. I have a BFA from Emerson College and furthered my studies with the Act One program in Los Angeles. I'm a write-at-home dad and a night owl, with a prolific output that I'd love to put towards projects like yours.

With many years in the entertainment industry as an Actor/Writer/Voice Artist, I bring a unique set of skills to a writing project. In my writing, I tell stories about all of us that uplift and celebrate the human spirit through its journey, success, angst, and challenges. As an actor, one enters the heart, mind, and spirit of another and shares it with the audience. Embracing another’s story, bringing it to life and colour, and telling it in their voice is very exciting for me. It is an enriching experience for all. Art is the essence of Life. My 1st screenplay, Welcome Home Kelly, culminated in a meeting with the Pres. of Universal Pictures and consideration for a co-production made off the lot. It was then submitted to Columbia Pictures and out of 1,000 submissions was one of seven selected for the Minority Writers Program at Columbia Pictures. In New York, ‘Kelly,’ was performed and produced as an Off-Broadway production. My 1st stage play, All About Sneakers, had 4 Off-Broadway productions, one for 100 homeless citizens. I am also writing a children’s book series, The Gemini Kiid, which was up for a children’s PBS TV program. In my work with the homeless, I took a NY team to Austria to participate in the “1st Homeless Streetsoccer World Cup,” and wrote a screenplay, Ew-Ess-Ah USA based on their journey. (The title refers to how the Austrians cheered for the USA.) I am also am the founder of a small, non-profit, volunteer organization, “The Chad Foundation for Athletes and Artists” that provides heart screenings to prevent Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes and Artists. Having lost my son to SCD while playing football, I have written my 1st memoir, “CHAD, A Celebration of Life – Beyond A Mother’s Memories” which is now published and available online at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Shakespeare and Company. Thank you so much for your time and consideration. I hope I shall have the opportunity to bring your personal, important stories to fruition.

I'm Whitney, an expert story coach, script polisher, and developmental editor. I help writers develop and craft their best novels, memoirs, non-fiction books and screenplays. I look for projects that have immense promise and work with you to nurture your manuscript or script till it's all it can be! I've worked with award-winning authors, professional ghost writers, traditionally-published writers (i.e. Penguin Random House), and self-published authors with 4+ star Good Reads ratings to create compelling narrative arcs, pinpoint non-fiction core concepts, and generally guide promising stories toward greatness. I love helping writers craft beautiful and meaningful stories. If that's your dream -- I'm here to help. My skills come from years working as a story coach, writer, journalist, as well as within the publishing industry through a traineeship at FranklinCovey where I served on the advisory committee for Sean Covey's book "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens." I also have studied under working Hollywood screenwriters. I know the industry's reigning philosophies and approaches to storytelling -- such as those put forth by Pilar Alessandra, and Blake Snyder in his nigh-ubiquitous "Save the Cat." I'm also aware of the more unique devices taught by Angus Fletcher (a self-dubbed "story scientist" who has been brought in by TV networks and studios to crack story problems). My Specialties: ✔️ Story and Writing Coaching ✔️ Non-Fiction, Memoir, Novels (Literary Fiction), and Short Stories ✔️ Editorial Assessments ✔️ Full Developmental Edits ✔️ In-Depth Beta Reads ✔️ Script Consulting and Script Polishing Story is COMPLEX. Let me use my experience, story knowledge and knack for analysis to identify why your essay, narrative, short story, script. etc. isn't quite working, If you are worried about criticism, I assure you, I'm not your critic, I'm your coach. I offer you an array of specific and constructive feedback to make your story better. Most of my clients state, when they get my feedback report that it is the most illuminating, helpful and nuanced feedback they have ever received. I'm knowledgeable about essential story tools such as: ✔️ Story structure ✔️ Tone ✔️ Scene ✔️ Humor ✔️ Dialogue ✔️ Core Messages ✔️ Flow of Argument 💡 I can also work with you on a nascent story, self-help, non-fiction or memoir idea if you need some guidance starting a book! I have worked with entrepreneurs and coaches who have rarely or never written, but want to turn their fascinating start-up success story or core coaching principles into a compelling non-fiction book. Every great writer has a fantastic coach behind them. Even Ernest Hemingway took constructive developmental notes from his writer/journalist partners. Beware of the mistake in thinking writing a fantastic book is something you must do on your own! Don't let my price intimidate you. An expensive developmental editor is one who pats you on the head, says good job, or primarily makes suggestions about formatting and line edits. You won't grow as a writer from these suggestions and neither readers nor traditional publishers will be fooled. My goal is to offer you only what you need to take you to the next stage -- whether that's a coaching session, a beta read, or a full developmental edit. I want to give you only what you need to help you move forward. I offer risk-free sessions. Try a coaching or developmental editing session with me to see how you might benefit and if you're a good fit. The initial consultation fee will be applied to your project. If you'd like the opportunity to "try out" a session with me, go ahead and request an interview so we can talk and get started! Thanks so much for taking the time to read my profile. I can't wait to read your work!

I was called down to Paramount off my very first spec script. At the time, Star Trek allowed 50 people a year to come to the William S. Hart building and pitch ideas. To earn that pitch, I beat thousands of other writers with my spec submission. I've been writing ever since. I give seminars at Universities and in Los Angeles for organizations like Colab. I've won pitching contests and excel at synopsis and loglines. I've also produced films for Netflix, Eone, Lionsgate, and MGM. I'm a writer at heart, though. Experienced writers know that writing is not a science, it's an art. You can't rely on structure. Structure is a guide. Structure will not elicit emotion from the audience. Your story needs to. In the few words above, you have everything you need to know about my experience level. Showrunners and Directors believe they can be writers because they've studied how to follow some "structure recipe". Structure is a science. Story is an art. Know the difference.

My name is Donna Mae. I have a BA in Screenwriting with 11 years of experience with the written word. My work ranges from creative to technical with a focus on precise storytelling for your audience. I have written... ...blogs for small-business owners. ...video and podcast content for Discovery Channel. ...technical e-mails for YouTube, Google, Facebook, and Twitter. ...coverage for scripts at NBCUniversal and Cinequest Film Festival. ...screenplays that have screened at film festivals across the nation. Kind Words-- "I’ve admired Donna’s scripts for years, and have long envied her agility as a writer. Her characters are funny, melancholy, and vital. When I wanted to create a script for my next film, I reached out to her to craft and complete the first couple of drafts. We worked together on my story, and she made sure I had a script in a fraction of the time it would take me on my own. Now that I have it in hand and can mold to my voice, Donna has worked as a coach and editor to get me through the final stages. I probably would have let the project wallow, if not for Donna’s skill, support, and kindness. I cannot recommend her highly enough for any project you want to develop." - Tony Jonick (Kingfisher Talking Pictures) "Donna Mae's impressive skill and talent is the conceiving of and the writing of sharp and compelling stories for the screen. She has a baked-in talent for it. I've seen it firsthand. I'd venture to say that she has the chops for whatever you're looking for, as well as, and the stream of consciousness to get it done quickly and creatively. I've optioned two of her script and produced one, "Happy Goat." That's the ultimate praise I can give her, is it not? I highly recommend her." - Leo Maselli (UVA Films) If you're interested in working with me, let's chat!

I'm an LA based screenwriter and director with seven produced feature-length screenplays so far, three of which I directed. My films have been picked up by major studios such as 20th Century Fox, NBC Universal, and Warner Brothers, and they have shown in theaters and aired on premium cable and broadcast television worldwide. Here is the list of my current films beginning with the most recent: BAD STEPMOTHER (2017), a thriller I wrote based on the novel, Wicked Stepmother. It stars Kristy Swanson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ferris Bueller's Day off), and Sofia Vassilieva (My Sister's Keeper, Medium). It aired on the Lifetime Movie Network on January 12th, 2018. FAMILY OF LIES (2017), a thriller I wrote and directed starring Christa B. Allen (13 Going on 30, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Revenge) and John Schneider (Smallville, The Dukes of Hazzard). It aired on the Lifetime Movie Network on New Year's Eve 2017 as part of Lifetime's Deadly Resolutions Week. It aired twice more on New Year's Day 2018. COLD MOON (2016), a horror film I wrote which was adapted from the best-selling novel Cold Moon Over Babylon by the late Michael McDowell, a novelist and screenwriter most famous for Beetlejuice and The Nightmare Before Christmas. It stars Josh Stewart (Interstellar, The Dark Knight Rises), Frank Whaley (Pulp Fiction, The Doors), and Christopher Lloyd (Back to The Future). It received a 10-city limited theatrical release on October 6th, 2017. It is currently available on Amazon streaming and other digital platforms. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (the Oscar folks) requested a copy of the screenplay for their Core Collection, which is a resource library available to students, writers, actors, filmmakers, among others. BAD GRANDMAS (2016), a dark comedy I wrote (originally titled Grandmothers Murder Club) which stars Florence Henderson (The Brady Bunch) in her final film, Pam Grier (Jackie Brown, Escape from LA), Judge Reinhold (Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Beverly Hills Cop). It received a 10-city limited theatrical release on November 3rd, 2017. It's currently available on Amazon streaming and other digital platforms. SALTWATER (aka ATOMIC SHARK) (2016), a horror-comedy I wrote which aired on the Syfy Channel in July 2016 and 2017 during Sharknado Week. FATAL CALL (2012). An action-thriller I wrote and directed starring Jason London (Dazed and Confused), Danielle Harris (multiple Halloween movies), and Kevin Sorbo (Hercules, Andromeda). It was released through VOD by Warner Brothers and in Redbox and all major video retail stores in 2013. GHOST IMAGE (2007). A supernatural thriller I wrote and directed starring Elisabeth Rohm (Law and Order, American Hustle, Joy) and Stacey Dash (Clueless). It aired over 250 times on the Showtime Network and The Movie Channel and the foreign rights were picked up by 20th Century Fox and NBC/Universal. I have several screenplays in development, both, originals and work-for-hire jobs. Your idea could be my next screenplay that gets produced. I'm fast, efficient, and will give you what you want! My dreams have come true so let's achieve yours.

I have been writing, acting and performing comedy for over 25 years. For the past 13 years, I've been a stay-at-home dad, which has given me books and books of comedic material. I find myself with lots of time in between school pick-ups and kid sporting events, so I thought, why not utilize said time by doing some brain work for other people?! I enjoy sitting up at night, typing, and quietly laughing at my own jokes, but I'm also good at breaking stories, suggesting new plotlines, and championing your project. I co-wrote and co-created a web series for Atomic Wedgie (a subsidiary of Freemantle). I've written 3 screenplays (comedy and horror) and 3 pilot scripts, 2 of which have been in consideration by executives at CBS, FX, and JAX Media. I've also written for National Lampoon, TROOP! and The Riot Act and cultivated a career as a Voice Over artist and just to round it all out, I recently started Podcasting, although I'm still trying to figure out what that means. I have a BFA from Emerson College, and I do enjoy long walks on the beach but only on short beaches. Oh, and I'm a Libra. Which apparently means something. Let me help you!

A freelance writer with over 27 years of experience on the beat in more ways than one, Billy Soden is a former music teacher, community educator, and innovative visionary that combines a creative, persuasive touch to nuance any niche. Soden’s background is a potpourri of originality and creativity that has harvested a compelling body of work, impressively representing a vast variety of genre’s. “Borders, whether they be physical or mental, divide," explained Soden. “If you want to write without borders you need passion, curiosity, intellect, grit, humility, and a creative mindset. Simply put, stories and words connect, and every kind of writing tells a story.” “Writers are like bridges. They take the reader from point A to Z through reporting, storytelling, tone/style interpretation, emotion, persuasion, humor, data, and whatever else ‘gets the reader where you’d like them to be.’ The trick is always to keep your purpose front and center, getting them across the bridge! Whether they cross by carriage, camel, taxi, flying carpet, or dune buggy only matters to the extent that one or two of those ways will resonate best with your specific project and audience. Don’t put your reader in a carriage when you know they’d prefer a dune buggy!” Soden sets a high personal standard when it comes to quality and emphasizes that being flexible, reliable, and easy to work with are valued character traits that are just as important as writing itself. His considers himself to be a lifelong learner and spent many years in education as a teacher, community educator, and administrator. His clients come from diverse backgrounds and needs from all over the world. In addition to his writing, he also has experience as a Casting Producer for the number one show on PBS, and an Executive Director for Cole's Foundation and Kids Unite To Fight, a nonprofit foundation that helps kids and their families dealing with cancer. The scope of Soden’s work also includes having been a writer for the world's largest non-profit independent television and media company. Based in New York City with a global audience of over 65 million, his work contributed to the shared vision of uniting humanity, hope, and freedom through the authoring of engaging stories that portray the intensely compelling unification of all humankind. In November 2017, Soden published his second book, "Hope Dealer" and in December of 2019, published his first fiction book, "Sam’s Christmas: A Yuletide Tale of Destiny and Redemption." Soden has been a regularly featured writer on a global website with more than 1.1 million daily readers and more than 40,000 contributing bloggers. His blog, "How To Squeeze A Football Team Into A Sardine Can; Growing Up In Small Spaces," touched the hearts of many through a condensed telling of growing up in a large blended family. "Every writing job has a specific audience, and I love the challenge of writing an engaging story that makes the reader feel personally connected and invested in the outcome,” explained Soden. “I love writing anything whose intention is to evoke emotion, persuade, and motivate. The simplest creative nuance can make or break any given piece of writing.” Soden was a feature writer for a national organization that promotes outdoor adventure, history, and exploration. From high-profile celebrities and local and national magazines to media outlets and individual dreamers with a vision, no job is too big or small, and all are given his full attention and creative talent. "I love writing, and whether it's crafting one sentence or thousands, regardless of the genre, I take pride in my work and feel blessed to use my skills to satisfy every client to the best of my ability.” Professional and positive, versatile and creative, Billy Soden has coined the term "Beatbusker" and labels himself as such. "I'm a hybrid writer," Billy explained, "kind of a cross between a beat reporter and a street performer (a busker). I know all the words. You just have to put them in the right order to make them get up and dance!" Positive, collaborative, and inspired, Soden is indeed the "Beatbusker" of the writing world.

I'm a screenwriter, article writer, script reader and video game writer who has a deep love for the art and structure of storytelling. Storytelling has been my passion my entire life. The catharsis of artistic writing is what drives me to work hard, uphold high standards for my work, and use my formal education to make every project I am a part of the best it can be. My job as the lead screenwriter of a non-profit film organization, Project AWARE, has taught me immensely about the process of independent filmmaking and has given me a great appreciation for the types of scripts produced within that realm. I've written ten features and around thirty short films, two of which have been aired on The CW. I've had ten shorts produced, including three films for the United States Government. I've written for multiple websites, including TIME, Upworthy, TheThings, and Psychology Today. I have an intense love of writing for video games, with a lot of experience in that realm. The power of good story in video games can entirely shape the world and immerse the players as much as possible. There's nothing better than taking people on a journey away from their everyday life, and I love doing that whenever possible. My BFA in Screenwriting, where I was educated by world-renowned storytellers, has given me a formal knowledge of how to make stories the most engaging and exciting they can be. I would love to work with you to make your story, article, or script the absolute best it can be. My goal is to work as hard as possible to put cathartic, phenomenal art into the world, and I'd love to do that any way I can.

I have several years of writing experience in everything from articles and web content to screenplays for TV and film. For the last 8 years I've been writing scripts for an entertainment and technology based news show which airs on AMC and ION. I write segments highlighting different products and services, usually tech related. Otherwise I'm a full-time freelance writer with thousands of articles and web content posted online. I tend to add a certain amount of humor to my writing which results in engaging content. Though upon request by the client I can write in a more "dry" style if needed. I have a rigorous work ethic and fast turnaround rate. With my high communication level I can work to fulfill a client's needs and then some. That's highlighted by the fact that I'm Top-Rated and have a 100% Job Success score on Upwork.
