Responsibilities

A CAD designer with our company holds several important responsibilities:

Develop working relationships with engineers and architects across different departments to facilitate collaboration and communication
Collaborate with product development and sales teams to identify target audiences, quality objectives, product goals, and timelines
Work with project managers, CAD technicians, CAD software drafters, and other design engineers to develop a drafting and review process
Use CAD design software to create initial workups and technical drawings based on concepts and specifications
Review all designs prior to submission to ensure quality control and industry compliance
Incorporate feedback and revise CAD drawings as necessary
Train and manage a team of design support staff

Job qualifications and skill sets

Our ideal CAD designer candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

A minimum of an Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in mechanical drawing, engineering, or a related field is preferred
Minimum of five years of experience preparing CAD drawings based on architectural and engineering concepts, blueprints, and layouts
Familiar with AutoCAD computer software like Revit, SolidWorks, and Autodesk
