I have extensive experience in administrative coaching, school improvement, school leadership, professional development, Professional Learning Community (PLC) leadership and school improvement. I led the implementation of PLCs, and successfully trained PLC leaders in the effective implementation of PLCs. I had the pleasure of coaching PLC leaders in the development of PLC programs that best fit the desired culture of each individual school. Through professional development sessions followed closely by onsite coaching and implementation support, schools were able to realize the benefits of active participation in effective PLCs. In my capacity as both an instructional specialist and a single school culture coordinator I developed training programs that provided opportunities for increased student participation in advanced academic programs. I developed training programs which made it possible for District schools to include more students in grade advanced math courses. Teachers and administrators were coached in the effective identification, instruction, and support of a growing population of accelerated students. Over my career, I have developed practices that have led to improvements to the quality of products and procedures produced and employed to aide instruction at both the district and school levels. Many of my innovations, have become integral parts of the District’s instructional culture. I have had the opportunity to share my innovative strategies with colleagues from the primary to the university level across the country. The effective leadership strategy that I have cultivated increases the effectiveness of a team through coaching and ongoing support. This is most evident in the results seen by the Glades Region where for the first time all schools earned a grade of “C” or higher. My work with the math departments in the region led to a 5-point increase in percent of students at level 3 or higher, a 13-point increase in acceleration, 14-point increase in math learning gains, 12-point increase in math lowest 25 learning gains, a 64-point increase overall (529 to 593), and a 6% increase in percentage of points earned (48% to 54%) It is my goal to continue to lead the development of successful student-centered learning environments. I expect to achieve this goal by facilitating the development of a culture of growth and achievement for faculty, staff, and students.
