I’m an entrepreneur, art director, and graphic designer with over a decade of experience in the creative industry. From the moment I was old enough to start stringing words into sentences, writing has been my passion and my purpose. My copy is lively, fresh, clean and concise. I can write for a range of purposes and audiences, whether composing pieces that are light and fluffy, or hard-hitting and weighty. Words hold tremendous power to persuade, and I enjoy using my gift for writing to help entrepreneurs achieve their dreams and bring their visions to life. Much of my career experience comes from being a journalist. I've worked on staff as a reporter at two of Canada's most respected newspapers, the Ottawa Citizen and the Winnipeg Free Press. I've also been a reporter and editor at Vancouver's leading business paper, Business in Vancouver, and taken on numerous freelance assignments for various publications, both in Canada and the USA. I'm a dual citizen currently living in New Orleans, a vibrant and colorful city that provides endless inspiration for my writing. Detail oriented and driven by data analysis (without losing my creativity of course!), I am a marketing professional with 20 years of experience. Areas of particular strength and interest include: digital brand development, band storytelling and consumer engagement/dialogue, marketing plans that encompass both qualitative and quantitative strategy, content (photo, video, and text) creation, and identifying and developing mutually beneficial strategic partnerships. I've worked in both D2C and B2B projects in the past and am adept at handling the stylistic differences between the two. I also have an academic interest in the cognitive behavioral aspects of marketing, trends in social media conversation behaviors, and social media brand management. I have have published one paper on the topic of information processing vis-à-vis gamification, and am currently working on a second article for publication. I got my undergraduate degree from Brown, and my MBA with focuses in marketing and strategy from Tulane. I also completed my Master of Global Management degree at Tulane, in tandem with my MBA.
