Hello, my name is Eric Zhu. I am an Industrial Design professional based out of New York City. Throughout the years, I've had the opportunity to work in top Fortune 500 companies alongside some of the most talented designers in the country including Asia and Europe. My most recent experience working in the MedTech industry at Siemens Healthcare provided me with a deeper understanding of human factors and usability challenges to the lab techs who operate the complex laboratory systems. MedTech is a heavily regulated and engineering driven industry. We were faced with usability challenges and constantly trying to improve features even after a product was launched. Working in a small team provided the flexibility to work on both big and small projects. Most importantly working in a small team at Siemens Healthcare ensured a harmonized design across product lines, where we were able to ensure design checks and balances during the most rigorous internal reviews.
