If you have something in an office file (a csv of sales numbers, or a word report, or a daily email you receive with information) and you need to get it into something else, or do something with it, it can be automated. You may think "its easy - and it only takes 45 minutes once a week" - that's 2,340 minutes a year which is 39 hours a year. A whole week of every single year is spent doing something "easy". If you have a week a year to spend creating a PowerPoint, or emailing a client report, or whatever it may be then think about what else you could do with that time. Non-repetitive tasks are equally important - it may be a one time mailing or combining multiple datasets into one but the need for accuracy and speed may still make automation worth while.
