Hello! My name is Amie and I am from Sri Lanka, currently living in Perth, Western Australia. I have been working in HR for the past 10+ years. My experience spans most areas of Human Resources. As my profile will tell you, I have worked a lot in Learning and Performance, but also in the capacity of an HRBP, and I have been handling Performance Management as well. I am very much a people person, which is what got me into HR in the first place; an organization is only as good as it’s people. We have been working remotely since early 2020 (thank you Covid) and are now moving into a Hybrid system. Working remotely has strengthened me as a professional in many ways, including improving my communication skills, working independently, being self-motivated and learning to collaborate much better, amongst so many other things. Outside of HR, I am a good writer - although my professional experience in this area is limited to a few "books" I wrote as a child! My professional experience has also exposed me to many facets of the Microsoft package, which I am now well-versed in (Excel, Word, PPT). This might seem like a weird, random addition - but I am also very good with Canva! I love it and have a Pro account which I would be happy to use to help you with any basic graphic designing needs. My favorite thing to do is Travel. I love exploring new places, but also hate trying out new food. I’m working on this. I enjoy murder mystery books (SO to Mary Higgins Clark) and horror movies, much to my husband’s dismay.
