I'm an audio engineer and video editor with over 6 years of professional experience recording, mixing, and editing audio such as podcasts and music, and 4 years of experience editing video and creating motion graphics. I am an artist and creative person at heart, and over my career I've worked with independent creators, small companies, and corporations. I love to learn about my clients' vision and value communication every step of the way to create amazing results for them. I have an open-minded yet professional attitude towards every project I work on, and I prioritize strong execution of fundamental techniques as the foundation for any project. My website is chrisrubis.com PODCASTS/AUDIOBOOKS/DIALOGUE: I specialize in the production skills needed to create polished, professional sounding podcast episodes and dialogue mixes. I make purposeful edits that keep the flow of the conversation going, and can serve as an assistant producer if needed. I can mix you and your guests' voices to sound full and clear, free of distracting breaths, "uhm's", and all those weird noises you didn't know your mouth makes when you talk. I can run tools to remove background noise that your mic may have picked up. I'll mix in intros, soundtracks, and special effects to draw in your listeners. I'll also deal with making sure your audio meets technical standards like ACX, so it's ready for distribution right away. Editing and mixing for video projects is welcome here. MUSIC: I have recorded, produced, and mixed several albums, EPs, and singles, although artists typically hire me just for one or two of those stages. I specialize in mixing rock, rap, hip-hop, and funk, but between mixing records and live shows, I've worked with almost every genre at some point. I can also master your music to get it ready for digital release. I'm a musician (bassist, songwriter) myself, and I approach mixing from an artistic perspective, not just a technical one. I was born and raised in North Carolina but have lived so far as Arizona, Alabama and Tennessee. I can 'put on the charm' of a southerner from Georgia or even give a bit of a posh English accent. Being in the mix of all of that myself, as a content creator and social media marketer, I can tell you that I understand that feeling of being overwhelmed and not knowing where to start. My start with social media began during the days of MySpace, when editing and coding was the ONLY way to customize your profile.
