I hold an Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences in Mechanical Design Technology from Joliet Junior College and a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering Technology from Southern Illinois University. I am a Certified Design Draftsman holding two certifications in Electro-Mechanical and Printed Circuit Board Technologies and a recognized Autodesk Certified Professional for AutoCAD. One measure for CAD applications is the time it takes to perform design tasks. I spent 10 years as a design draftsman and construction technician in the nuclear power plant design-build engineering field. There I designed and as-built mechanical piping systems, hangers, and related field design services. I work for and with Stone & Webster, Brown & Root, ITT Grinnell, Schneider Engineers, Bechtel Corporation and Sargent & Lundy. During my career as a construction design technician I was assigned to Nine Mile Unit #2 Nuclear Station, NY, Beaver Valley Unit #2 Nuclear Station, PA, and Dresden Nuclear Power Station in Morris, Illinois. After serving in the nuclear industry my design focus shifted to the telecommunications industry. There I was the Director of Engineering Services and the CAD Department's Manager. I supervised and assisted in the design of 250 telecommunication cell sites and the build-out of two large mobile wireless networks. As supervisor of the engineering design department, project training, scheduling, and deliverables were daily tasks for my position. My day-to-day primary clients were T-Mobile (VoiceStream), Sprint PCS, and AT&T Wireless, ComEd, Wisconsin Electric, BSA Design, and other local firms. Today I serve the community as a college professor in the field of Computer Aided Design & Drafting. While teaching on all levels of computer design using the AutoCAD application from CADD 100 (exploring) to CADD 230 (CAD Management), I am also the CADD Program’s Coordinator, Advisor, and CADD Manager here at Joliet Junior College.
