Senior Linux/DevOps Engineer & AI Automation Specialist
Senior Linux/DevOps Engineer and AI Automation Specialist with 15+ years of experience designing, building, and scaling cloud-native infrastructure and intelligent workflow systems. My background combines deep cloud architecture expertise (AWS-focused) with hands-on experience building AI-powered automation using n8n, LLM APIs (OpenAI, OpenRouter), vector databases, and secure cloud environments.
Most recently, I've led DevOps and cloud-security engineering for a U.S.-based healthcare SaaS platform (physician scheduling) operating under HIPAA and SOC 2. The work spans secure AWS operations, fleet patch management across mixed Windows/Linux estates, EKS lifecycle management, and building the security tooling and audit evidence that underpin a SOC 2 program — turning compliance requirements into reliable, automated, production-grade controls.
Cloud & Infrastructure Expertise
Over 12 years of AWS experience designing secure, scalable, production-grade environments across healthcare, banking, and enterprise sectors.
AWS Services
EC2, RDS, EKS, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFront, Route53, Elastic Beanstalk, SQS, EFS, ElastiCache, Redshift
Systems Manager (SSM), GuardDuty, Security Hub, AWS Config, Inspector, CloudTrail
Infrastructure as Code
Terraform & CloudFormation — multi-account secure environments

Hello!
I'm a Senior DevOps Engineer with 5 stars in Upwork, and a 100% success rate (more than 7,500 worked hours). I love to work as a part of a team communicating in a friendly and constructive way.
I have large experience building high-availability and high-scalability systems for big companies, mostly based on Kubernetes (multi-cluster, multi-region, active/active setups)
I'm using Kubernetes since 2015 (since it reached version 1.0). Most of my experience during recent years is based on EKS clusters, but also deployed Kubernetes in other clouds and on-prem (using K3s and RKE2). I have created the infrastructure from scratch for big companies in Europe and the U.S. (in different sectors like health services, videogames, advertising, data processing, web software, etc).
I follow the GitOps philosophy (my preferred tool is ArgoCD) to deploy multi-cluster applications (where services run in multiple production clusters for maximum availability). This is much better than deploying prod apps in a single cluster. Also, we can use a service mesh to have robust networking.
Also, I take security very seriously. To reduce the attack surface, I only expose prod services to the Internet. The rest of the services (including test apps) are only available using a centralized VPN (deployed in Kubernetes). All internal services use SSO, including access to the clusters by developers (using kubectl or other clients). I can also deploy a policy engine system (like Kyverno) to enforce some security rules. I never use IAM keys, they are not ideal, all access is granted through the use of IRSA roles.
On the development side, I like to use Argo Rollouts to deploy prod versions gradually (using Canary releases). This also reduces the number of users that can be affected by a bug. And of course, we can create several development environments (dev, qa, etc)
On the observability side, I can provide centralized logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting, using open-source, enterprise-grade solutions (properly integrated).
Another important area is the reduction of costs by creating efficient infrastructure. Normally I try to use ARM instances in all clusters (if possible, depending on the app requirements), performing AWS reservations to save money and using tools like Karpenter to have a higher density in the nodes usage.
I have much more to say, so let's have a meeting.
