Project Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Omnissa Horizon / VMware Horizon Delivery Engineer to support a short-term customer implementation and engineering engagement. This is a hands-on delivery role, not simply an advisory or architecture position. The selected consultant should be comfortable quickly assessing an existing Horizon environment, identifying issues and gaps, implementing required changes, troubleshooting complex problems, and working directly with our technical team and customer. The ideal candidate will have strong real-world experience with Omnissa Horizon 8 / VMware Horizon, including Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateway (UAG), Instant Clones, golden images, desktop pools, published applications, App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), and the supporting VMware infrastructure. The engineer will also be expected to provide professional documentation and knowledge transfer as part of the engagement. Scope of Work Depending on the final customer requirements, responsibilities may include: Review and assess the existing Omnissa Horizon / VMware Horizon environment. Gather and validate technical and business requirements. Review the existing Horizon architecture and identify configuration, performance, security, or operational gaps. Validate architecture, sizing, redundancy, and deployment approach. Install, configure, upgrade, or troubleshoot Horizon components. Configure and validate Horizon Connection Servers. Configure and troubleshoot Unified Access Gateway (UAG) for secure external access. Configure and troubleshoot desktop pools. Build, optimize, and maintain golden images. Configure and troubleshoot Instant Clone desktop pools. Configure and support RDSH farms and published applications. Configure or troubleshoot Omnissa App Volumes. Configure or troubleshoot Omnissa Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM). Review user profile, personalization, and application-delivery configurations. Review and troubleshoot Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, certificates, and authentication dependencies. Review VMware vSphere dependencies, including ESXi, vCenter, clusters, storage, networking, and resource allocation as they relate to Horizon. Validate user entitlements, access policies, desktop assignments, and application assignments. Troubleshoot Horizon Client connectivity and user-session issues. Troubleshoot Blast Extreme, PCoIP, display protocol, latency, and performance issues. Assist with SSL certificates, certificate chains, and certificate-related troubleshooting. Assist with load balancer integration and troubleshooting where applicable. Identify root causes and provide clear remediation recommendations. Implement approved configuration changes and remediation activities. Participate in customer-facing technical meetings and implementation sessions. Document configurations, changes, findings, and recommendations. Provide knowledge transfer to our engineering team and the customer. We are a charter school system and want to have an expert look at our UniFI system and offer recommendations for improvements to the configuration and design. State testing starts next week and its always problematic with 1000+ chromebooks hop on the network at the same time. This process is not complicated but I want the transition to go as smooth as possible so we dont have an interruption with email or .com traffic. We also own a secondary domain, hmerrickofcalifornia.com (registered via GoDaddy), which redirects web traffic to our main site. A complete CSV account mapping file (detailing paid seats vs. free groups) will be provided upon hire. Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work:     1    Google Workspace Provisioning:     •    Set up the Google Workspace tenant for heidimerrick.com.     •    Create ~13 paid user seats (info@ primary hub, individual team accounts, and store POS account).     •    Set up 7 free Google Groups / Collaborative Inboxes (ap@, customers@, sales@, careers@, press@, store@, studio@).     2    IMAP Data Migration:     •    Perform background IMAP data migration via Google Admin Console to transfer historical emails and folders from SiteGround to new Gmail inboxes without data loss.     3    DNS Cutover & Email Authentication (Cloudflare & GoDaddy):     •    Update MX records in Cloudflare to route mail to Google Workspace.     •    SPF Optimization (Critical): Audit and optimize our SPF record in Cloudflare. We currently face the "too many DNS lookups" (10-lookup limit) error due to multiple active integrations (Shopify, Klaviyo, SiteGround, etc.).
