Howdy! I've written a novel.. please, hold your applause. I've been working with an editor for a few years now and I've had several beta readers give me their opinions. I'd like to get a developmental/content edit one last time to get a fresh perspective from someone who works with fantasy novels.

I'm writing a nonfiction book — a blend of memoir and prescriptive/idea-driven writing about asking for help, ambition, and navigating high-achieving spaces. I have a book proposal with 3 sample chapters, and I'm aiming to start querying agents this fall. I'm looking for a developmental coach/editor to help me get the proposal query-ready. I already have a high-level advisor for industry strategy, so I'm specifically looking for a hands-on collaborator — someone I work WITH in sessions and shared docs, not someone who just sends a report. What matters most to me: • You help me sharpen and protect MY voice and perspective, rather than steering the book toward your own take on the subject matter. • You're great at structure and pacing — especially helping me manage narrative flow when chapters lean story-heavy, without stripping out the texture that makes the writing mine. • You know the nonfiction book proposal form well (overview, comp titles, chapter outline, audience/marketing sections) and what agents and acquiring editors look for. • You like an iterative, conversational workflow: working calls, margin notes, real back-and-forth. The first thing I'd want: I already have detailed feedback from another editor — an editorial letter plus tracked comments on my proposal. I'd love for you to read my proposal/chapters AND that feedback, then do a working call with me to talk through which notes to take, which to push back on, and a revision plan. I want a true second opinion, not an echo. Scope: the proposal + 3 sample chapters only, with a goal of being query-ready by early fall. Budget: hourly depending on experience, or a flat project quote — tell me how you'd prefer to structure it (I'm open to a flat fee for the initial read + call, then hourly for ongoing revision sessions). In your proposal (screening questions below) please: 1. Briefly share your experience with memoir and/or prescriptive nonfiction and with book proposals specifically. 2. Link or describe 1–2 projects you've coached/edited (especially anything that went on to an agent or a sale). 3. Answer this: When a writer's draft leans heavily on personal anecdotes, how do you help them with pacing without flattening their voice? 4. Tell me how you like to work with writers — sessions, docs, cadence. Please start your reply with the word “ASK” so I know you read this through.

I am looking for a clinical psychologist to help me with reviewing a Print on Demand product I will be selling online. I run dropshipping stores for trending products, and I wanted to start a brand that genuinely will make a difference. The product I created is a workbook, guide, and deck of cards with a focus on productivity and emotional regulation. I took some of the techniques that I used in my own life, along with significant research, and created this offer to help people with something I personally struggled with. I do feel a deep responsibility to make sure that this product will genuinely inspire positive changes in people's lives, and I want to make it as effective as I can. I am looking for someone with a clinical psychology background to review these products - should be around 70-80 pages in total(should only be about 2-3h of work from my best estimate, if it takes longer, I will be sure to pay you for your time). I am comfortable with hourly rates or one-time payments and am willing to pay well for a qualified candidate.

I am looking for a written feedback report covering overall story impression, plot holes or confusing sections, character believability, alignment with reader excpectations in this niche, dialogue that feels unnatural, and confusing scenes. If you have a passion for romance and a keen eye for storytelling, I would love to hear from you.

SEEKING DEVELOPMENTAL EDITOR to assist me with a nearly completed first draft of a memoir that I hope to publish. DESCRIPTION OF MEMOIR The memoir is a coming of age story involving sexuality, Catholicism, and a love of the divine. It does involve some (not a lot, not too intense) sexual abuse and scandal. The audience is Catholics, ex-Catholics, and those intrigued by the mystique of Catholicism which may include non-Catholic Christians, atheists, Jews, and persons of other religions INTENTION OF THIS BOOK My intention in writing this is to help the Church, not hinder it, although some material may not be welcomed by some. YOU ARE A BEST QUALIFIED CANDIDATE FOR THIS ROLE IF - You are Catholic or ex-Catholic. This is required. - You have a cultural experience of Catholicism, and perhaps the pain Catholics and ex-Catholics may feel. - You are enthusiastic about the value of clarity in Catholic jargon, concepts, and beliefs. - You have experience with helping authors develop their story ARC, as a first step in a multi-step editing process. That is, you have experience with structural editing (not solely copy or line-by-line editing). - Bonus: you may understand or have experienced a "charismatic" or "spirit-led" spirituality. For now, I'm only seeking help with the STRUCTURAL ARCS. I'm envisioning just 2-3 hours/week (flexible) to review and give me feedback, inspiration, and ideas. This is a small gig, a part-time job, that will be EXCITING to someone enthusiastic about my content. To boot, your own understanding of Catholicism may grow tremendously as you accompany me on this journey. If it turns out we have good rapport, this has potential to turn into a longer contract, for helping me with subsequent aspects of editing to get this manuscript fully polished, ready for the next steps with publishing.
