We're looking for someone who genuinely loves being in the comments. You'd be the voice of our brand across Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and TikTok — replying to every comment and DM, keeping response times fast and coverage consistent across all four platforms, and making people feel seen. Our voice is warm, upbeat, and a little sunny, and we need someone who can carry that consistently, at volume, all day. To be clear about what this is: it's not a strategy or content-creation role. It's hands-on, in-the-feed engagement work, and we're looking for someone who finds that energizing rather than tedious. Half the job is reactive and half of it is proactive. Beyond responding to everything that comes to us, you'd be actively hunting for the conversations we need to be part of — Reddit threads where people are debating around our industry, creator comment sections, Facebook groups, TikTok duets and replies, competitor and category discussions — and showing up in them as a genuine participant rather than an ad. Over time that means building real relationships with the people and communities who already care about what we're building. Along the way you'd flag customer issues, PR risks, and recurring questions to the right person internally, and track what you're seeing so we know what people love, what confuses them, and what they keep asking for. The right person has real experience running community engagement or social for a brand, whether agency or in-house, and writes fast and well — funny, kind, and on-brand in two sentences. You have sharp judgment about when to engage, when to escalate, and when to stay quiet, and you're fluent in the native norms of all four platforms, especially Reddit, where the wrong tone gets a brand shut down in an afternoon. We'd also love for you to be a genuine user of AI tools yourself — not to write your replies for you, but to clear the busywork so more of your day goes into the part only a person can do: the judgment, the humor, and the read on what someone actually needs in that moment. Comfort with high daily comment volume and reliable availability during full-time business hours are both essential. Familiarity with AI, consumer tech, or the communities around them is a real plus, as is a healthy skepticism about AI hype — a lot of our best conversations start with someone who isn't sold yet. Above all, we want joy and sunshine in every reply. If your instinct in a comment section is to make someone's day slightly better, you'll do well here. To apply, send us a short note about why this role appeals to you along with three to five examples of comment replies you've written for a brand — screenshots are perfect. Preferably based in New York City.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 Sidebench is hiring a community manager to run day-to-day operations for a peer community we're building for a healthcare client on Circle. The community connects frontline practitioners so they can ask questions, share what's working at their sites, and get validated answers, all without any patient information ever touching the platform. You'd own moderation, member lifecycle, and reporting starting week one. This is the first phase of the engagement. Strong performance here has a real shot at turning into more hours, since Sidebench runs similar community and ops projects across other accounts. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗱 𝗼𝘄𝗻 Member lifecycle: invites, activation, follow-up on quiet invitees, offboarding Moderation: triage flagged posts, apply a graduated response ladder, keep every correction warm and specific rather than generic Q&A routing: sort incoming questions by who should answer them and get responses inside SLA Content upkeep: apply official-vs-member-contributed labeling correctly, check publishing rules before anything goes live, track resources against their review dates Reporting: track activation rate, response time, moderation volume, and content freshness, and turn it into a monthly operating summary 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 (𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼) Policies: participation policy, moderation standards, data handling rules, written and ready for stakeholder review Rules: a working graduated escalation ladder with clear triggers, owners, and timelines at each step Scripts: onboarding and welcome messages, moderation response templates, re-engagement nudges, support-handoff templates A reporting deliverable covering the metrics above 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 - Proven track record running an online community end to end, ideally on Circle, Mighty Networks, Discourse, or a comparable platform - Skilled at writing policy and moderation language that reads human and holds a firm line when it needs to - Experience building scripts and operating templates from scratch - Good judgment with sensitive or regulated content, since this community serves healthcare practitioners - A habit of turning raw activity into a clean, useful monthly report - Comfortable working from an evolving playbook and making sound calls while pieces are still being finalized 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 Rate: $30–$150/hr Hours: approximately 20 to 50 hours total for this initial phase This is the first engagement in what may grow into a broader relationship, as Sidebench runs projects across a range of client accounts. Details in this posting are subject to change as scope firms up.
