I'm involved with a Christian ministry called TheChristianHeart.com. This ministry is a blog that highlights how everyday people live out their Christian faith. The people we feature are not the Billy Grahams or Mother Teresas of the world but the guy or lady next door. It is a short little story where the reader would get a peek at what this person does to show Jesus' love. As you can see, the stories are not long. They are written in the first person, are anonymous, and simply tell what that person does to show his or her love for Jesus. We have a picture for each story, too. The ministry not only has a blog but also has developed quite a social media following on Instagram and Facebook. Each story takes on a life of its own, with different people being exposed to each story and then so many sharing it with their friends. It's exciting to see some of them really take off and get some surprising exposure. I'm looking for a few people to write stories that can be used on this blog. I would look for you to do stories on people you know. When you do a story, you typically get in touch with the person by phone and hear the story about what they do. Then you write it up, let them see it in case they need to make any changes, and the story itself is done. The other two things that are needed are (1) some horizontal pictures that help tell the story and/or makes the visitor want to read the story and (2) the person to just put their name and date on our waiver, saying we have their permission to use their story and picture. The job is complete when the story is written, an acceptable picture is received and the waiver is digitally signed by the person featured in the story. We pay $35 per story.
