Built on custom hardware, prototyped on evaluation kits, validated with Freematics OBD-II emulator and Saleae logic analyzer, and tested on real vehicles. The product is now in production. Functional Safety & Compliance (UL1998, IEC60730, UL1973, ISO26262) I led two full UL1998 certification programs, Intrinsic Power (EVSE controller) and Lithiumwerks (BMS). I drove the internal safety audit, created all artifacts (FMEA, FTA, safety requirements, architecture, test plans), represented the company during the UL audit, and incorporated auditor feedback. Both programs achieved successful certification. Automotive Diagnostics & Fleet Management Applications Built and shipped multiple OBD-II diagnostics and fleet management apps (Android/iOS), live sensor gauges, DTC scanning, TPMS monitoring, BLE connectivity, shop finders, and web dashboards. Tested by real customers in their vehicles with verified results. I handle the full stack: firmware on the device, mobile app on the phone, and web platform for fleet operators. Hardware Bring-Up & Product Development From schematic review and mechanical enclosure design to board bring-up, firmware porting, protocol validation, and production testing. I prototype early on evaluation kits so the firmware is 70% ready before custom hardware arrives. This saves months of development time. CAN Bus, K-Line, J1850, and Vehicle Protocol Expertise Deep hands-on experience with automotive communication protocols. I write the drivers, validate with logic analyzers, test on emulators, and verify on real vehicles.
