Vancouver has become one of the most unaffordable cities around the world. One of the reasons for this is strong international demand for properties, but another is that the lots within the City boundary are often surprisingly large given their proximity to the downtown. A standard unit of measurement was used to survey land in the city called Günter's chain, resulting in many lots of either 66 or 33 feet wide. As a for-fun exercise, we would like to know how many additional lots could be added to the city if the minimum allowable width was reduced. We would also like to know where some of the existing "skinny" lots that are less than 30 feet are located so we can research how they happened. Using freely available open source data (most of which can be probably downloaded here http://data.vancouver.ca/datacatalogue/index.htm) please undertake the following tasks: 1. Identify how many lots in the City of Vancouver are classified as RS zoning (one-family dwelling districts), what the total combined width of all RS zoned properties is, and what the average width is. 2. Create a clickable map highlighting lots under 30 feet in width colour shaded by width increments. E.g. 29-30 feet, 28-29 feet, 27-26 feet. It should be possible for us to click on the property to see the street address and width. Please clear out any artifacts in the maps such as random severed lots that don't have any buildings on it. In your responses we would appreciate it if you could indicate you have reviewed the data sets available online. It is important that you are fully aware of the information available online. Thanks!

The freelancer is required to provide details on the following aspects: 1) Possibility to segregate projects on the basis of username/password (the default features of the system seem not embedding access rights modules); 2) Design of the server environment in order to organize projects into folders/directories and assign access to each project on the basis of user credentials, as per the above item 1; 3) Possibility to organize and categorize projects in the QGIS web client front-end interface: the freelancer is requested to provide working instructions on the publication of links and their visual organisation in the web page; 4) Possibility to Integrate QGIS web client with other GIS systems: the freelancer is requested to elaborate working instruction on: a. how projects are uploaded into the QGIS web client (in terms of background maps and layers); b. how projects are generated (QGIS-like file extension), if QGIS desktop is required or files generated from other systems (like ArgGIS, GW-Base, GeODin) can be directly uploaded as well; c. how the QGIS web client could read data directly from a database (running on the same cloud server) instead that from QGIS-like files. ... I'm pretty technical and have done a good bit of GIS coding, but don't know Civil 3D and need someone with the right experience to help out. ... Key problems I'm having: - Getting the map image to align to my shapefiles perfectly - Truncating the map to my parcel - Simplifying the contours and getting the shape to display in 3d The preferred candidate must have experience in Civil 3D and understand GIS concepts such as the ability to edit vector data, create data in a GIS software application from a multitude of sources (paper documents, Excel files, hand written maps, etc.), be able to work with external data in multiple formats, in addition to fluency with projections and coordinate systems. ... You can see a screenshot of me interacting with my current model and data at this link: http://autode.sk/1U5G5uZ Some products I would like to produce would look like this: http://www.ruraltech.org/gis/map_info/3d_maps/images/g2.jpg And I would like to be able to export both models as an STL file.

Save the map as a GeoTiff raster format in 1:2,000,000 scale or tiles that cover the world I imagine using GDAL and gdal_rasterize on the server would be the most likely way to accomplish this, but I am open to other ideas. Please let me know your experience with GIS tools and how you would accomplish the above requirements.

I need someone to take a csv data set of 100,000 rows and analyze the data. I have specific questions I need answered from the data but I also am looking for pattern recognition or any other analysis that can be done. Example questions to answer from the data set: What % of customers come back or visit more than once? What % of our customers are Male vs Female? What is the average age of our customer? What is the average distance traveled by our customer? What % of guest are local (within 45 miles of our location)? Break down the customers by the type of group they say they are. How do our customers hear about us? What percentage of our customers opt into our email newsletter? The attachment is just a small sample / example.

For catchment description is necessary to integrate the knowledge about the topography, land use and soil characteristics, in order to understand the catchment behavior. For example, the catchment area is quite important to estimate mean response reactions. A headwater catchment in a mountainous region is expected to react faster than the following main catchment far downstream in the lowlands. Furthermore land use and soil characteristics indicate the storage behavior of the catchment. Many of the characteristics can be linked to form an overall image of the estimated dominant runoff processes within the catchment.
