My client, a large municipal agency, would like to develop a tablet based system to track maintenance for his facilities. The tablet form will have about 15 line items. He would like to track these maintenance items geographically, wants it integrated with a GIS mapping system. As I understand the task, sounds very simple, but this is not my core business at all. We do a lot of work for this client so I would like to do this for him. I am looking for someone who has experience developing tablet based systems with GIS mapping functions. You will be the primary point of contact with my client so you need to be personable and present well. Probably not a big job but if we do a good job could lead to more down the road. My client wants it tablet based so hopefully you have experience in both Ipad & Android.

We have a set of points (lat, lon, weight) and want to create an interpolated value-based heatmap layer, based off the weight value. It should be interpolated. IDW is fine for now. Here's how it should look like, more or less: * http://i.stack.imgur.com/hZZRs.png (you can go to http://bit.ly/1gPqHEi if you want to see how it behaves); * The actual map tile: http://i.stack.imgur.com/DvVyU.png. We want to create it server-side, possibly even manually at first. Then we want to script it in and serve it using WMS (geoserver or a compatible map server) to a Leaflet or Google Maps client (or any other compatible for that matter). The main question we have now is, what set of tools are needed to create it and how to script it and integrate it into our web app pipeline. Our current stack is PostGIS, GeoSever, Rails (the web app + Leaflet on the front-end) and Nginx. We are open to other GIS stack suggestions. We also heard GMT (Generic Mapping Tools) has all the CLI tools we need...

- Create uniform map style using TileMill (cartocss) which can be compiled into Mapnik XML (can be created in mapnik format from start) - We will discuss styles, provide some examples (highlevel, built in google map builder) and require the deliver of .mss / .mml or compiled .xml files for tiling server input + cartotype style files upon finish - styles must match perfectly between cartotype and web.

We're looking for someone to convert some maps into Postgres (with the PostGIS extension) so they can be looked up by our website. I believe they are bitmaps overlaid onto the map which you need to convert to polygons. The job is spec'd in detail and your client is a backend coder himself (but not GIS specialist). You can choose your language but you must be able to install and run it on a Linux server.

Hi, I have a project that requires some good GIS skills...either ArcGIS or Google Maps (or any other options) that will be reflected in named user accounts, and driven by both user input and dBase items that are populated by both Admin module inputs and Excel Spreadsheets. The site has a roughly 12 pages...3 of which have GIS functionality. There will be dynamic pop-up reports driven by info specific to the named-user account as well as info contained in the dBase. An Admin module must be available for the editing, entry, management, and deletion of information, alerts, etc. Reporting capability is important. There will be some additional functionality such as push-email notification to accounts of record on an account based on alerts reporting that meets criteria. Other small items such user ability to view and PDF documents as well as save documents to their own account page (one of the pages that needs to be coded) I have PSD files ready to go, data in Excel format, and...

hello all: I have an node.js application that receives data from a GPS watch device. The GPS watch device works in 2 ways: 1) Sends GPS coordenates to my node.js app in my server 2) IF GPS is not available, it sends LBS positioning data So depending on which one is available, it will send either GPS or LBS data to my server For testing, we disabled the GPS chip in the watch device so that the device only sends LBS data to our server Once we did that, we no longer receive GPS longitude and latitude and instead of that , now we are receiving this value (which is the LBS data): 100,94,203,0,00100008,7,255,716,6,1134,2902,149,1134,12902,13 7,1134,12901,134,1134,2901,131,1134,2903,126,1134,4643,123,1134,12903,122 I am not sure how to convert this data into GPS coordenates (long and lat)....I know LBS positioning works with cell towers IDs.....but not sure how can i have this translated into a GPS location As you see , the LBS value i am receiving has 30 pieces in it...
