I had a consumer product re-invented from a metal device into a primarily plastic device. The product is a baby product used by parents with their stroller. So it needs to be durable, have quality to its assembly so it doesn't break and there are few defects, and obviously, the production cost per unit has to remain low because of the demands of this particular market and this type of accessory.
The product has already been designed by two product designers and a patent has been applied for. However, two factories looking at producing it are concerned about the material we are considering making the device from, as well as the materials and mechanisms of a couple of the parts in the device.
I need a mechanical engineer who can look at what has been done, what was described in the patent application, and what the two factories have said, and then decide what can be done to improve the device so that it meets the requirements stated above.
My preference is that you have worked with plastic and metal accessories in the consumer market, particularly in the baby products market.
