We are seeking a highly qualified, organized, and communicative **Chemistry Tutor & Academic Accountability Coach** to support a college **pre-med student** in achieving academic success. This position is more than traditional tutoring. The ideal candidate will provide strong **college-level Chemistry instruction while also serving as an accountability and organizational coach** to help the student manage coursework, establish effective study habits, stay organized, and remain on track with academic goals. The ideal candidate will be a **college student, graduate student, or recent graduate with a strong background in Chemistry, Biology, or another science-related field**, preferably with experience in a pre-medical academic environment. Key Responsibilities 1.Chemistry Tutoring college-level Chemistry. * Explain challenging chemistry concepts clearly and effectively. * Assist with homework, assignments, labs, quizzes, and exam preparation. * Identify academic weaknesses and develop strategies to strengthen understanding. * Help the student develop effective problem-solving and test-taking skills. * Prepare the student for upcoming exams and major assignments. 2. Academic Accountability & Organization * Help the student create and maintain a weekly academic schedule. * Assist with organizing assignments, exams, projects, and study sessions. * Help prioritize competing academic responsibilities. * Establish weekly academic goals and follow up on progress. * Hold the student accountable for completing agreed-upon tasks and study goals. * Help develop consistent study routines and time-management skills. * Conduct regular check-ins to review what was completed, what remains outstanding, and what needs to be adjusted. * Help the student avoid procrastination and stay ahead of deadlines. * Encourage independence, responsibility, and ownership of academic performance. Qualifications Strong Chemistry background with the ability to tutor college-level Chemistry.** * Experience working with college students is strongly preferred. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to explain difficult concepts in a clear, patient, and engaging manner. * Strong organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to provide constructive accountability without being overly controlling. * Reliable, professional, punctual, and consistent. * Comfortable working with a high-achieving student in a demanding pre-medical academic program. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build a positive working relationship with the student. Preferred Background * Current or former **pre-med, medical, science, Chemistry, Biology, or related major**. * Strong academic performance in Chemistry. * Previous tutoring, academic coaching, mentoring, or teaching experience. * Experience with **General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry** is highly preferred. * Familiarity with the academic demands and course requirements commonly associated with pre-med students. ### Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is **academically strong, highly organized, an excellent communicator, and comfortable providing both instruction and accountability**.
