I am looking for an experienced English teacher to provide tutoring for my children, who are currently in 9th, 6th, 5th, and 4th grades. English is their first language; however, they have been living in a non-English-speaking country for the past five years, and their reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and overall language skills are now below their respective grade levels. I would prefer one-on-one tutoring for each child to address their individual learning needs. However, the two younger children (5th and 4th grades) may attend sessions together if appropriate. The ideal tutor should have experience working with students who need to rebuild and strengthen academic English skills, including reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary development, grammar, and critical thinking. My goal is to help each child reach or exceed grade-level proficiency and regain confidence in their academic abilities. Please share your qualifications, tutoring approach, availability, rates, and any relevant experience working with students in similar situations.

ABOUT US I am a Ph.D. and digital product business owner who uses AI (Claude, ChatGPT) daily to run and scale my business. My 12-year-old son also needs to learn how to work with AI effectively. We are both looking for a patient, engaging tutor who can teach us how to communicate with AI the RIGHT way — so we actually get results instead of garbage output. This is not a beginner intro course. I use AI every single day. What I need is structured prompt training — how to write better prompts, how to iterate, how to get AI to do exactly what I need it to do. My son needs the same fundamentals but taught at a level that works for a motivated 12-year-old. --- WHAT WE NEED • Weekly 1-on-1 sessions — one session for me, one for my son(can be same day back to back or separate) • Hands-on, practical training — no slide decks, no theory-only lessons • Real tasks, real prompts, real results — we learn by doing • Curriculum that builds over time — not the same lesson repeated • Familiarity with Claude and/or ChatGPT required • Experience teaching teens or kids a strong plus for Jordan's sessions • Patience required — my son is 12 and sharp but needs an engaging teacher --- TOPICS TO COVER (not limited to) For both of us: • How to write clear, specific, effective prompts • How to give AI the right context so output is actually useful • How to iterate — when output is wrong, how to fix it fast • How to fact-check and verify AI output • How to use AI for research, writing, and problem solving • Advanced prompting techniques — role prompting, chain of thought, formatting instructions For my business sessions specifically: • Prompt frameworks for marketing copy and email sequences • Using AI for product descriptions, sales pages, and ad creative • Workflow automation with AI tools For Jordan: • School essays, research projects, creative writing • How to use AI as a thinking partner, not a shortcut • Critical thinking — how to know when AI is wrong --- WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR IN YOU • Proven experience teaching prompt engineering — not just using AI yourself • Comfortable teaching both an adult professional and a 12-year-old • Structured but flexible — able to adapt to where we are each session • Responsive and reliable — this is ongoing work, not a one-time gig • Strong communicator --- LOGISTICS • Sessions: 45–60 minutes each • Frequency: Weekly to start, may increase • Format: Zoom or Google Meet • Start date: ASAP • Budget: Open to proposals — please include your hourly rate and a brief note on your teaching approach --- TO APPLY Please include: 1. Your hourly rate 2. Your experience teaching prompt engineering (not just using AI) 3. One example of how you would structure a first session for a 12-year-old 4. One example of how you would structure a first session for a working professional Applications without these four items will not be reviewed. Looking forward to finding the right person.
