I’m building a trusted roster of experienced freelance proposal and grant writers to support my growing marketing and business consulting practice. I work with businesses and organizations that may need help responding to RFPs, developing proposals, pursuing grant opportunities, or managing the proposal/grant process from start to finish. I’m looking for experienced professionals I can bring in when the right need comes up, so we already know each other and are ready to work together. This is not necessarily an immediate project or a full-time position. My goal is to build relationships with talented freelancers for future project-based and ongoing work. Depending on your background, your experience may include: * RFP/RFQ responses and corporate proposals * Government or public-sector proposals * Grant research and opportunity identification * Grant writing and applications * Nonprofit, foundation, corporate or government grants * Proposal strategy, development and coordination * Executive summaries, narratives and supporting content * Editing, proofreading and compliance reviews * Managing deadlines, requirements and submission processes * Working with subject-matter experts to gather information and develop strong responses You do **not** need to have experience in all of these areas. Specialists are welcome. Most importantly, I’m looking for people who can independently execute the work. I can manage the client relationship, strategy and overall project, but I need experienced writers who can step in, understand what is needed and deliver high-quality work. I'm Especially Interested in Freelancers Who: * Have a strong track record in proposal and/or grant writing * Can share examples of successful work or relevant outcomes * Are organized and highly attentive to detail * Understand how to work against firm deadlines and submission requirements * Communicate well and are dependable * Can work collaboratively when multiple stakeholders are involved * Are comfortable working behind the scenes alongside a consultant or client team * Are interested in developing longer-term working relationships Experience working with agencies, consultants or as a behind-the-scenes/white-label partner is a plus. Before bringing someone into a client project, I’d like to have a short introductory conversation. When Applying, Please Share 1. Your primary area(s) of proposal or grant expertise 2. The types of organizations, industries or funding sources you have worked with 3. A few relevant examples and, where possible, outcomes or win/funding results 4. Your typical hourly and/or project rates 5. Your general availability 6. Any experience working with consultants, agencies or other client-facing partners If it looks like there could be a good fit, I’ll reach out to schedule a short conversation.

We’re looking for a writer to produce Quick Hits, a series of concise, timely stories covering business, workplace and marketing developments worth paying attention to. These stories should be useful and interesting on their own while reflecting From Day One’s practical, people-focused perspective. The ideal writer can quickly identify a strong angle, make sense of a timely development and turn it into a clear, engaging story without over-reporting it. Quick Hits are brief, lightly reported and focused on one clear idea, rather than comprehensive reported features. Depending on the story, reporting may include a timely news development, a few relevant sources and, when appropriate, insights or examples from From Day One events.
