My name is Vincent Torre Bongolan, a Data Scientist by profession with more than 18 years of experience in Technology and Analytics. I am currently attached to De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), specifically in the School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) as a Sr. Professor where I’am teaching Statistics and Analytics subject courses and I also developed a program course for the School of Professional and Continuing Education or (SPaCE) in the same university such as Programming for Analytics and Non-Analytics. Prior working to De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, I am attached to Asian Development Bank as a Sr. Data Scientist and Artificial Intelligence Lead for Innovation where I have been part of various innovation projects for the Bank such as developing Artificial Intelligence application for Pepper Robot, Robotic Process Automation for the Internal Billing Process of the Bank and develop Virtual Agent as one of the functionalities of the ServiceNow platform. Those were only few among the Innovation projects spearheaded by the bank. On a regular basis, I am doing Analytics and create Dashboard report from the ServiceNow Platform about the incidents, requests, problems, and other issues raised to the support group via ServiceNow platform. The Analysis and Dashboard is very important for the management so they can formulate strategies and remedial measure to improve its services. Previously, I am the Sr. Associate Manager for Data Science at Accenture Philippines where I have been part of various projects of the company. I am also conducting talks and discussions to various Universities and Colleges in Metro Manila to discuss about Data Science and Analytics. This is for the young generation to appreciate the importance and the benefits of taking Statistics, Computer Science, and other related courses. I am also conducting bootcamp lessons about skills and tools that we need to learn as a Data Scientist. My undergraduate degree is Applied Statistics, my master’s degree was also in Applied Statistics, and I have a total of 24 units in the Bachelor of Laws at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Right after my graduation, I started offering statistics consulting to fellow students in the University. After a couple of years, I have decided to register the consultancy to make it as a full-blown business. I am also an academician by heart; thus, I wrote a book on Research and Statistics when I was with Arellano University as a Head Statistician and as a part-time Faculty. I have helped the University to become a Research University. Year 2010 when I start working from home through Upwork.com, Freelancer, and Craiglist. I also developed an online course and published ito to different E-Learning Platforms such as Udemy, LearnDesk, etc.
