Periscope Robotics
Overview
What we do: Though we focus on custom robotics solutions, we can take any product from idea to professional quality printed circuit boards and embedded code. We use KiCAD, Altium, or Eagle/ Fusion 360 for schematic capture and PCB design, depending on client preference. On the firmware side, we develop in C, C++, and Arduino with a CMake and RapidCheck toolchain. Jaden is also proficient with C#. We are happy to use other tools and products as required, but these are the ones we are the most comfortable and quickest with. Who we are: Periscope Robotics is the dynamic duo of generalist electrical engineers Jaden Bottemiller and Dylan Tomberlin. We are currently working on our own robotics startup and need to eat while we get to the point where we can pursue funding. Jaden is an Electrical Engineer specializing in Embedded Systems. He served a critical leadership role while on Husky Robotics, the University of Washington’s Robotics team. As Systems Engineering Lead, he managed the development process of the robot’s electronic and software systems from schematic capture and PCB design to firmware and control software. His primary focus was ensuring compatibility and a robust communications infrastructure between embedded devices. After his graduation, he began pursuing Periscope Robotics as a startup with Dylan Tomberlin. Dylan was the Electrical Lead on the Husky Robotics team for two years, serving as manager, teacher, and principal engineer to a team of 30 new electrical engineers. Dylan also interned for Intellectual Ventures Lab, Global Good division, assisting in the development of an incubator resistant to power outages intended for diagnosing tuberculosis in the developing world, as well as Fluke, updating an open source low level networking library they intended to use in a network tester. Dylan enjoys reading circuit reference books in his free time.
