"Great execution on this task! Beginning with a throughout questioning on requirements that were somehow missing from the job description and to the extend of going beyond the scope in order to help the project. I rarely meet such dedicated and professional people and would highly recommend him for other jobs."

HttpFilteringEngine is an open source, high performance, filtering transparent proxy written in C++. This proxy demonstrates low level network programming, including HTTP/1.1 compliance in message reading. It also demonstrates use of OpenSSL for intercepting and decrypting client streams, and encryption of server streams. This engine is estimated to take about 3 person years of effort based on the COCOMO model, is composed of well over 10 thousand lines of low level C++ code and about 10 thousand lines of comments to explain the code exhaustively.

GQ is a ground up rewrite of a Go CSS3 selector parsing and matching engine. GQ uses Google's Gumbo HTML5 parser under the hood to parse HTML, then builds out static trees of the HTML structure while indexing tags and attributes for fast, sequential CSS selector queries. The goal of GQ was to enable a user to execute tens of thousands of CSS selectors against the DOM. GQ also provides a simple but powerful mutation API during reserialization, so it's possible to execute many tens of thousands of CSS selectors per second that also perform mutations to the DOM on output. In simpler terms with a more concrete example, you could load the Adblock Plus CSS selector rules and blot out all ads from HTML before displaying to a user without any detriment to user experience.
