I've been analyzing, designing, and developing software applications in varied environments for over thirty years. Most of these environments integrated a GUI or Web-based front-end with a relational database on the backend. I've also configured and managed systems and networks, and consulted with clients on these issues, at need. My experience in database, system and network administration help me make design choices to avoid conflicts and performance problems due to backend bottlenecks.
Most recently, I've been highly involved in the development and support of multiple highly-available, web-hosted applications utilizing web, Windows, Android and iOS client devices with clustered, redundant Microsoft SQL Server instances as the data store. Backend processes were performed by T-SQL jobs and Windows services and application written in VB.Net and C#.
