Business Lawyer who Helps Entrepreneurs

Canadian lawyer. Licensed lawyer with 10+ years experience in business, corporate, contract, and data law legal matters. Born and raised in Toronto's Kensington Market, I am a Law Society of Ontario licensed lawyer (Barrister & Solicitor). Started with a big, "white shoe" firm where I learned from some of Canada's leading corporate and finance lawyers. I then practiced for several years as in-house counsel in East Asia. I now run my own shop. I am physically in Yorkville, Toronto. Thanks to the internet, it is possible to handle everything online. Depending on the specific matter with which you want help you may be better off speaking with someone in your specific jurisdiction. (If that is the case, I will let you know.) My small but busy and enjoyable practice is focused on non-public corporations. This means I work with entrepreneurs and executives as well as civil society organizations. I like working with entrepreneurs. My goal is to become a valued advisor who truly understands the client's business. The following are some typical issues: - setting up a business (corporation) and taking care of associated paperwork in an efficient manner; - structuring your team of shareholders, directors, and officers for the corporation; - when to think about a shareholders' agreement, and when it may not be necessary; - building your operational team of employees and consultants without becoming unnecessarily constrained; - privacy programs and policies that help protect the information privacy of both employees and consumers; - email marketing in a way that is profitable but does not become SPAM; - buying (and selling) digital assets, such as websites; - pre-seed and seed round fundraising; etcetera.
