Fundraising Consultant, Content & Bid Writer, Academic Editor

Hello! Thanks for visiting my profile. I run two distinct but often overlapping businesses: one as a professional grant writer and fundraiser, the other offering writing, editing and proofreading services, especially for academic and business clients. I have 25 years experience in grant writing and fundraising, including senior posts at major UK universities as well as experience in the charity sector. Since joining Upwork this Summer I have helped numerous clients research and write grant applications. One recent successful grant application saw a client doubling the score allocated in assessing his application after employing me to help him research and draft it. I have also undertaken editing work for a number of very happy international clients on Upwork across a range of projects from editing and providing tutorial support to Chinese students writing Masters dissertations in English to editing web advertising copy. I am highly literate professional, being fluent in several languages, with a first class degree in French. My passion is the written word - the clear and elegant communication of often complex ideas in accessible but intelligent form. My aim is to work with you to produce the very best written materials we can that promote and represent you and your business optimally to the wider world. As a graduate of, and former lecturer at, Oxford University, I have been producing written materials of the highest quality for 25 years, be they in fundraising and marketing, web content, funding bids or published academic work. I have a very broad knowledge across different fields of the arts and humanities - and more recently of the medical sciences, especially neurology. Outside of paid work, I am doing post-graduate work in Buddhist Studies with a view to starting a PhD in late 2023. I am most at home learning new languages, working with old manuscripts and reading (or writing) articles on them. I am based in the UK but am keen to work with the right clients anywhere in the world. I have the highest integrity and professionalism, which includes a commitment to regular and truthful communication as we plan and execute larger projects.
