English Ph.D. With 15 Years of Editorial Experience

I'm an English Ph.D. with 15 years' experience as a writer, editor, and college English professor. As an academic, I've been teaching students how to express themselves in clear, clean prose since 2008, while publishing research on a variety of topics on film and historical fiction. As a writer, I've published sci-fi, fantasy, and horror stories in half a dozen professional literary magazines, and am an active member of both SFWA and HWA. As a fiction editor, I've lent my geeky passion for sci-fi/fantasy topics and historical fiction to a number of projects, working as everything from a lead developmental editor helping authors workshop rough manuscripts to a copy editor, line editor, proofreader, and story consultant. I often work in the genres of sci-fi, fantasy, YA and children's literature, and non-fiction memoir and history. I'm also widely practiced in editing commercial copy, and maintain ongoing relationships as an 'in-house' editor for several businesses.
