Translator (English, Russian), Software Developer

I'm a Russian IT-engineer and a Candidate of Technical Sciences, have perfect Russian grammar and writing skills, fluent conversational English. My specialties are English to Russian and Russian to English translations (technical, IT and common), Desktop Applications (.NET + C#, also Delphi), Information Systems and Databases Design. More details: My story with programming and English started when I was 13, but even before that I had always been fond of computers. My first machine was 80286 (1993, I was 7 years old) and I was fascinated by how it could make complex things with precision and speed (and of course I was stunned by it’s adventure and quest games). Now (September, 2016) I am 30 so it makes my experience in programming 17 years in all. Also, programming is where my path in studying aspects of technical English started — as most manuals and documentation for dev instruments were not properly localized. I’ve been developing my skills in this two fields ever since. In 2008 I graduated Ukhta State Technical University with a perfect score in Informational Technologies and Software Engineering, and was already working in the Information and Computing Center of my alma mater. Four years later I presented a scientific software engineering work in Systems Analyst applied to Geophysics which earned me the Candidate of Technical Sciences (Russian equivalent for PhD) in this field. After that it seemed a reasonable choice to make my career in science and teaching — and for some time it has been. Sadly, the harsh economic situation in my country has led to drastic drop of income for teachers and scientific workers both, so if I want to have a vacation somewhere nice and warm this year — I will have to make some additional money by freelance work. That’s what I’m trying to do — make some money in two fields I enjoy and in which I am capable: software development and translation. Also I would like to get more familiar with the paradigm of working remotely, so that I could make my way of life freer and more mobile. I’m a responsible person and I’ll treat your work as if it was part of my full-time job. I'm eager to perform test tasks if necessary.
