Software Documentation-writer and editor.

Special rate is for open-source projects only! And if the project is VC-funded, open-source price is 45/hour. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm here to help you write great documentation for your software projects. The kind of docs that make readers say, "I love these docs!" My specialty is documentation for developer audiences: API docs, programming tutorials, and implementation guides. I also write research-based longform articles about technical topics. ## Experience Currently, my primary job is on a manufacturing system with bridging MQTT, Graph databases, and Kubernetes. Previously I worked at Grafana Labs. Specifically, I oversaw the docs for the load-testing tool, k6. These docs are well-loved in the developer community: I encourage you to read the k6 OSS docs, or search the G2 reviews for k6―just `ctrl+f` and type "docs". I care about users, readers, and design. I also have extensive experience as a freelancer for all types of projects. I was a teacher before I was a technical writer. And still I think of technical writing as a form of teaching. ## Technology Linux and open-source enthusiast. Decent scripting skills with JavaScript and Bash. Familiar writing Python and SQL. Comfortable setting up containers and CI scripts. Experience with many major authoring tools and static site generators: Hugo, Gatsby, Docusaurus, Jekyll. Markdown, Asciidoc, and so on. Very comfortable with the OpenAPI (Swagger) spec. I'm more of a scripter than a programmer, but I can dig through code and ask pointed questions.
