Human Resource Consultant & Former VP of HR w/25 Years Experience

Hello! I have 25 years of experience in Human Resources and both a M.S. in HR Management and a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Before becoming a full-time Human Resources consultant, I was a VP and Director of HR at a few start-up and mid-sized companies. I now specialize in providing comprehensive, HR Director level support to businesses with 1-1,000+ employees, focusing on thoughtful and strategic programs that align with organizational goals. I aim to work with leaders who care about their employees and want to build effective HR systems. Some of the services I provide, including a general estimate of timing, at my current hourly rate of $85 per hour include: Employee Handbooks 1. Create a new or update an existing Employee Handbook: 4-5 hours (up to 25 pages, one state). -Approximately an additional 1-2 hours per state for multi-state compliance. 2. Presentation to Employees: 4 hours to create and present a 30-45 minute PowerPoint presentation to explain handbook changes to employees in one state. Performance Management 1. Create a New or Update and Existing Performance Evaluation Form and Process. 2-6 hours. Then create a form to facilitate 2-way communication. 2. Performance Management Training: 4-6 hours to create and present a 45-minute PowerPoint training on managing employee performance and managing performance evaluations. 3. Guidance on Progressive Discipline: Typically 1-4 hours depending on the situation. This includes gathering information and providing guidance to managers on which step of the progressive discipline process to follow. This may include reviewing draft written warnings and sometimes witnessing conversations and facilitating two-way feedback. 4. Workplace Investigations for Employee Grievances: Time varies. This includes interviewing complainant(s), respondent(s), and sometimes witnesses and then providing recommendation to management which might include coaching the employees, progressive discipline, training, or termination. Training Programs 1. Customized training programs can be created for all employees or specific to managers: 4-8 hours each. Clients can select just one topic, or choose several to have implemented monthly or quarterly. This includes understanding business needs and customizing each template training to fit. Topics might include: o Legally required trainings for state compliance (including California) on Harassment Prevention, Safety, OSHA, and HIPAA. o Time Management o Conflict Management o Employee Grievance Procedures and Investigations o Diversity/Equity/Inclusion/Belonging Series o Interviewing for Success o Employee Onboarding Job Descriptions and Compensation Benchmarking 1.
