Data Engineer & Analyst

Full-stack Python3/SQL Data Engineer & Analyst; ETL/ELT, API Integrations, Automated Data Pipelines, Web Scraping, Database Management, Data Visualization (Real-Time Dashboards and Scheduled Reports), Helper Scripts (Headless for servers and UI-based for non-technical users), and Technical Support/Coaching. If a computer can do it, I will make it happen... My preferred tech stack: [Dataviz] - Google Data Studio/Sheets/Apps Script (free BI for low/no budget shops) - PeriscopeData (aka Sisense Data; BI for larger shops with more expertise) - AWS Quicksight (great choice if already using AWS) - Looker (for larger shops who don't mind investing and locking-in their business with LookML; SQL is still required) - Grafana/InfluxDB (best real-time BI / monitoring for any shop) - Plotly (legacy only; still good for in-house BI) [Development] - Python3/Django (pretty much everything, all the time; simple web apps, PWAs, cross-platform apps, mobile apps, etc.) - Jenkins (classic CI/CD; still gets the job done) - Airflow/MWAA (next-gen Python CI/CD; MWAA is a great choice if already using AWS) - Playwright/Puppeteer/HMTL5/CSS (mainly web scraping and web test automation) - AutoIT (large-scale Windows PC deployments) [Database] - PostgreSQL (best all-purpose DB in the world; newer versions excellent for OLAP, OLTP, and NoSQL/JSONB) - AWS Redshift (PostgreSQL-powered data warehouse for larger datasets and queries) - AWS Athena/Iceberg (data lake for true "big data") - SQLite (better for tiny/localized projects) - MySQL (mostly just for Wordpress, etc.) [Webserver] - AWS (best-in-class cloud infrastructure, but tends to be expensive) - Fly.io (excellent cloud option for low/no budget shops) - Heroku (excellent cloud option for low budget shops) - DigitalOcean (cloud VPS; very flexible for small and large shops) - Vultr (cloud VPS; very flexible for small and large shops) Message me if you have any questions!
