✨ANNOUNCEMENT✨ I am currently only taking Pinterest clients. I'm so happy you found my profile! My name is Madeline, but I go by Maddey. There are people from all across the world on Upwork. My little corner of the planet happens to be in the beautiful state of North Carolina. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My background is in art and design. I took advanced art classes throughout grade school, but I never really found a home with fine arts. I leaned more towards interior design as a possible career after high school because it combines design with function... and it was something that I liked. Upon completing high school, I attended the New York Institute of Art and Design and earned my certification in Interior Design. The only thing was, I didn't feel quite confident enough to open my own business. I was only 19, and I just wanted to get my feet wet in the job market before doing anything else. In the meantime, I was working as a furniture painter at a local store and selling vintage home decor on Etsy. And let me tell you. This is where my story truly begins. My means of advertising my furniture creations and vintage finds were social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. I researched how to make the best use of those platforms, and I really enjoyed the process of creating content and finding ways to get my posts in front of the right audience. I found out Duke offered a digital marketing program, and I jumped at the opportunity to take it. I thought I was just going to learn new skills. I didn't know I would discover my passion. Since completing my marketing certification, I have worked as a freelance content creator and ads manager for various marketing companies. Social media content creation is something I have enjoyed from the beginning. It pulls from my background in art and design but gives me the challenge of creating content for a variety of people and businesses. In addition to social media marketing, content writing is another area of digital marketing I've come to enjoy. I've written content for all kinds of projects ranging from email marketing to blogs and website copy. I especially love writing content for projects I can put my personality into. I love the world that my career path has opened for me. I get to meet (and by meet, I mean Zoom or call) ambitious and inspiring people from all over the world and help them with my creative marketing solutions. I enjoy working with those I can grow with and learn from. I look at each job as a learning experience that I can use to better myself or my skillset.
