My name is Chiara, and I'm a Bilingual (ENG/SPA) immigration paralegal motivated by the idea that our work impacts people far beyond securing a work visa or a green card, and that passion is embedded into how I operate and approach every project I'm involved in. I have over three years of full-time experience supporting US-based attorneys in preparing mainly family-based and employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant petitions/applications - including, but not limited to: H1-B, L-1A, TN, R1, O-1, EB-2, EB-2 NIW, immediate relative petitions, and a range of other immigration categories (such as U.S. citizenship). Additionally, my experience as a remote worker and participation in process improvements at past clients' firms has deepened my knowledge and interest in automation, legal technology, and specifically: the technical and social process of their implementation. Because of this, I enjoy setting up and working with softwares such as: MyCase, Cerenade, Docketwise, Pipefile, Asana, Clio, Notion, Acuity Scheduling, Calendly, MS Office, Google Workspace, iWork, Adobe Acrobat, and other similar tools. I can serve as a sole immigration paralegal service provider or extension of an in-house team to assist with any upcoming deadline or complex matter (RFEs, Motions to reopen, and similar). Feel free to send me a message! **PLEASE NOTE** I am not authorized to practice law in the United States or provide legal advice. In addition, I do not offer immigration paralegal services to the general public. My work is performed only under the direct supervision and guidance of licensed immigration attorneys. If you are require assistance with an immigration matter, all I can do is refer you to qualified attorneys who can provide you with the necessary legal support.

Having a fully enforceable and legally binding agreement is invaluable if you want to be in compliance with the laws and regulations and protect your business interests. Do you feel like you have a great product or service but can't put it in *legal* writing to get the ball rolling? Maybe you are about to sign a legal document and need an accurate and unbiased external legal opinion to be 100% sure that your interests will be protected. Or you want to register a trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and need help from filling to registration. Then you need someone to step in and take this stuff off your hands so that you can concentrate on the big picture. If you're looking for: ✔️ Legal documents —contracts, disclaimers, privacy policies, terms of service, and everything in between— to use in your business so that you and your customers are in compliance with local, state/provincial or federal regulations; ✔️ Apply and file for a trademark application and need help from someone who specializes in trademark law to guide you through the application process; ✔️ Appeal an Amazon account deactivation or listing removal due to alleged intellectual property rights infringement (or any other reason such as a customer complaint); Then I can help you. Chances are, you didn't get into business to spend all day keeping all the plates spinning. In fact, this may be a sign that you're close to burning out! You got into business to help others and make money doing something you enjoy. I want to give you more time to work *on* your business, not *in* your business. This is what some of my ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ clients say about me: "If you're looking for someone who is reliable and trustworthy, Jorge is your person! He always exceeds all expectations and provides the most high-quality work! He ensures that you're satisfied with his work and constantly communicates with you during the process. Always a great pleasure working with him! Highly recommend!" —Dinora L., IL "The project was a success! All of the requirements I've described were implemented to my fullest satisfaction. Going beyond that, George contributed several highly relevant and valuable ideas that were incorporated into the final document. He is easy to work with, promptly responded to my messages and managed to combine high-quality results with a quick turnaround time. I recommend his services." —Sebastian K., Germany. "I could not have asked for a better experience/provider. He did the work lightening fast and correct. Perfect communication! I wish I had more work for him in other areas, he's simply the best!" —Maria D., TX. "My trademark was successfully granted. Thanks Jorge!" —Thomas E., FL. "Jorge is excellent in what he does. Provided very useful information for helping launch my idea. Thank you!" —Thomas E., FL. "J. A. Márquez Fagoaga was willing to actually stay up extremely late with me to try to work through a very difficult contract, a VERY rare thing for any lawyer to do. He also did so in a collaborative manner (something also very rare) while genuinely listening to my thoughts on things. There will be a time when I use him again." —Nathan L., TN. "Jorge was very fast and efficient and delivered exactly what I needed. Thank you for making things easier for me." —Barbara J., CA. If it sounds like we'd be a good fit, then hit either the "Invite to Job" or the "Hire Now" button in the top right area of this page and let's get in touch on the platform today. J. A. Marquez-Fagoaga, Esq. Attorney, ES/EN Interpreter & Certified Translator 📌 Proudly working for you from the Tropics.

I have more than 19 years of experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad spectrum of complex commercial agreements and successfully handling transactional matters. The focus of my practice has been in working with startups, emerging companies, and entrepreneurs through all stages of the organizational lifecycle. Objectives and Professional Philosophy: My objective is to understand and balance a client’s strategic business objectives with the legal process and risk mitigation, and to proactively address potential liabilities. My work product should not only reflect a client’s intent, it should be reflective of the client’s professionalism (and mine). I don’t “dabble” in practice areas in which I don’t have sufficient experience, and do not expect a client to pay me to learn something I don’t already possess a firm grasp of. Following are some of the types of agreements/transactions I have significant experience handling: • Intellectual Property Protection Agreements, Policies, and Transfers (nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements, proprietary information and invention assignment, software development, IP protection policies, IP assignment) • Employment and Independent Contractor Agreements • Company Formation and Corporate Governance (operating agreements for LLCs, bylaws for corporations, minutes and consents) • Purchase and Sale Transactions (asset purchase, stock purchase, mergers and acquisitions) • Supply Chain Agreements (procurement, manufacturing, supply, and distribution) • Business Visas (H-1B, TN, E-2, and L) and Family-Based Immigration (marriage to US citizen, adjustment of status, permanent residency, green card, citizenship) I have maintained State Bar licensure (in good standing) since my admittance in 2004, and would be happy to provide my complete resume and verification of my credentials upon request. As I am just returning to Upwork, I am open to offering a reduced hourly rate on a short-term basis.

I have significant writing, research, and consulting skills and experience. During my 34 years as an attorney, writing legal documents was an essential part of my law practice. I regularly drafted a variety of legal documents, including without limitation, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, entity formation documents, operating agreements, securities offering documents, immigration petitions, and many other different types of contracts and agreements. It was critical that I drafted these documents in a manner consistent with my clients’ intentions. As a result, these documents had to be drafted precisely and clearly. Besides legal documents, as an attorney, I also regularly wrote letters to my clients and letters to opposing counsel or government officials, such as opinion letters on legal issues, and sales letters and proposal letters concerning possible work. In writing these letters, I had to be both informative and persuasive. My clients would commonly request my help in writing certain of their business documents, and I would “ghostwrite” for them such documents as business plans, loan applications, and solicitations to investors. From time to time, I would review the work of other attorneys and thereby developed experience in proofreading and editing (where necessary) their writings. I also wrote speeches, seminar materials, and numerous articles on various legal and business topics for a variety of audiences, including without limitation, sponsored by American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Northwestern Mutual, Merrill Lynch, American Airlines, and Association of Legal Administrators. I also had extensive experience in researching both legal issues and other issues related to legal matters as an attorney. I am very qualified in the use of Lexis and Westlaw to research issues.
