Hello! I just founded my law firm and am ready to help you out with your legal needs. Here are some details that I feel distinguish me from other attorneys in my area. I graduated sixth in my class with a 3.78 GPA. Before law school, I worked myself through undergrad at various law firms in the Dallas area. During law school, I worked the absolute maximum I could as law clerk. This experience is why I feel comfortable starting my legal career as a solo attorney in 2021. Ten days after graduating law school, my wife passed away. For obvious reasons, I am passionate about estate planning and ensuring everyone has their affairs in order. With that said, I also focus on tax law issues (both state and federal), business advising, and employment law. ---Flat Fee Pricing--- Unless required by statute or the project/situation, I generally prefer to bill anyone by the hour. I do my best to quote a flat fee to do the work you want. If it is complicated and difficult to quote, I will break the work down into stages and provide a range. This way, you can control your costs instead of worrying about whether you are paying for me to answer the phone. ---Virtual Practice--- I work from home. The COVID-19 Pandemic showed all of us how little we need a physical office to get our work done. I keep my costs down by working from my home office. If I need to meet with you, I will offer to come to your home. If we cannot meet there, my home is spacious and tastefully decorated. My preference is to meet at your home. Some types of legal work -- such as family law and estate planning -- benefit from home visits. Elders and children, for instance, often have trouble travelling or feeling comfortable in new environments. ---Open Communication--- The biggest complaint people have about attorneys is that they do not communicate regularly or consistently. In contrast, I provide monthly updates to every client unless they expressly tell me they only want updates when there is something to pass along. When someone hires an attorney, often they are going through one of the most stressful times in their life. Having to chase after the professional you paid to help you through the situation only makes it worse. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you have. Ultimately, I just want to help people and make a living doing so. Thank You! Matthew C. Lewis, Esq.Legal Consulting
