I write screenplays that get purchased, produced and distributed (more than a dozen in the last ten years). Some of the titles include 2018's “Mail Order Monster,” 2017's “The Sex Trip” and 2016's “Paid in Full.” My most-recent credit is for the 2019 holiday film “The Christmas Chalet,” which was acquired by UPtv. I also wrote the Hallmark Channel's top-rated original film of 2007, "All I Want for Christmas." In addition to my work in film, I have also written and sold a number of television pilots and served as showrunner on a successful web series. As a screenwriter-for-hire, I have had the privilege of working for an Academy Award-winning producer, an Emmy Award-winning director and a Golden Globe Award-winning actor, among others. I am known for my mastery of craft, willingness to take and incorporate notes and quick turn-around times. Although it's been many years since I entered a screenwriting contest, my work has won the PAGE Awards, Slamdance, Scriptapalooza, Waterfront and Let's Make It. While I lived for many years in Los Angeles, I recently moved back to my home state of Michigan in order to be closer to my elderly parents and to help promote the state's nascent film industry.ScreenplayStory DevelopmentCreative WritingGhostwritingScript AnalysisHumor WritingScreenwritingScriptwritingStorytellingScriptScriptingMovieFilm ScreenplayComedyEnglish - $45 hourly

I am deeply passionate about creative endeavors that have the potential to positively impact the world, which is why I chose to pursue a degree in the business of film and television at DePaul University. With a concentration in directing, though it is my primary focus, I often find myself immersed in screenwriting, producing, and acting. Currently, I am directing and producing social media content for HS Dent LLC, as well as spearheading a Western animation project while continually refining my storytelling skills through writing. My true specialty lies in communicating a vision and creating a visceral connection for the audience. I am a multi-produced, multi-award-winning screenwriter of feature films, short films, and television. Dozens of my screenplays and pilots have been optioned, several have been theatrically released worldwide, and even more are currently in various stages of development and production. My most recently completed feature starring Sid Haig (The Devil's Rejects, Kill Bill) and Sara Tomko (Resident Alien) was released nationwide last year and is now available on-demand everywhere. If you'd like a novel adapted for the screen faithfully and beautifully, if you have an amazing idea for a movie or tv show but you're just not sure how to bring it to life, or if you've already got a script but you know it can be leveled up, I will be thrilled to work with you to help you realize your project with a quality you've never dreamed possible. I am listed as a "Top Freelancer" with five-star reviews across the board. Please take a moment to look over my feedback to see just how happy all of my clients have been with my work. After taking a hiatus from Upwork in order to focus on my screenwriting career, I've decided to get back into the swing of things in order to leverage my storytelling experience, love of character, and world-building expertise in a new field: narrative design. Games have always been a passion of mine. The games that hook my attention most are (and have always been) amazing stories at their cores. Stuff like Witcher III, where your choices truly matter. Like Persona 5, where relationships evolve and change. Like Dungeons & Dragons, where anything is possible. Like Pokemon, which... okay, these days, is mostly my guilty pleasure. The point is, those are the kinds of games I dream of making. Where actions have consequences and players get to watch a story unfold, and where players get to be a part of something meaningful, exciting, and different than their ordinary lives. And if that's what you're looking to create as well, then please reach out. I'd love to connect and see how I can help, be it with writing quests, dialogue, characters, item descriptions, or even core concepts.ScreenplayStoryBoard GameVideo Game WritingNarrativeScript RevisionPodcast WritingGame DesignVideo Game DialogueScreenwritingWritingChildren's WritingContent WritingCreative Writing - $35 hourly

You've got something to say. My goal is to help you to say it. In the world of publishing, this means a solid idea. A solid plot. Words presented in the best way to get your message across. But this also means being organized. And not getting bogged down with the simple tasks that are easy to delegate. Your project is important to me. From start to finish, whatever is needed, I'm that old-fashioned Girl Friday with a technical capability that will help you to get your message across. Whether it's designing a business card or brochure, or helping you to create that entire book from start to finish, I've got your back. Character creation. Plot Development. Writing. Editing. Book layout and design. I've been on Upwork for more than ten years, and I'm no stranger to Hard Work. I've worked professionally in the publishing industry for more than a dozen years. I've done editing for various publishing companies, been the virtual assistant to one of the top literary agents in the country, and have done graphic design for dozens of books and magazines. I've been published in magazines as diverse as "Country" to "Women's World." Right now my primary focus is on ghostwriting, and I have more than 250 works in print on Amazon even if you'll never see my name on any of them. ;) In short, I'm here so that you can communicate effectively at everything you do and am willing to put this vast array of experience at your disposal. Writing fees will vary from $0.03 - $0.10 per word depending on the project. If you're unsure what a project will cost, please let me know. Please note: For those of you coming to me from Fiction Profits Academy, I DO NOT work for $0.01 per word - I have a separate agreement with them for a different rate. If you're on a tight budget we are not a perfect match. On the other hand, if you're looking for experience, and a story you won't have to rewrite extensively before you can publish let's talk. Top Skills: PROOFREADING/EDITING (essays, manuscripts, online content, etc.) SCREENPLAY/SCRIPT EDITING (TV scripts, feature screenplays, and shorts) COPYEDITING (articles, blog posts, marketing material, etc.) My excellent writing skills and grasp of language arts stem from my undergraduate education in an honors program where I studied humanities and literature. Earning all A's in law school writing classes, drafting hundreds of legal documents, and writing award-winning teleplays and feature-length screenplays have caused my sharp grammar skills to become second nature. I have an eagle eye for proofreading and editing and am familiar with several word processing programs and marketing funnels, including Word, Google Docs, Final Draft, Fade In, Stripo, Buffer, and Pagefly. I'm happy to provide deliverables that either show or don't show my revisions; my clients can choose one way or receive both! I have written and edited two novels--the first two volumes in THE TEDDY BEAR CHRONICLES crime thriller series for adults. I am comfortable with proofreading/editing both short and lengthy written materials. Furthermore, I am a former English tutor... I have four years of experience teaching students of all ages excellent grammar and proofreading skills. They all substantially improved their grades while working with me. It was a wonderful experience to see them succeed. Lastly, I proofread and edited my scripts, which have earned high praise (winner, finalist, nominee, and semi-finalist) in several film festivals and contests between 2019 and 2023, including Underground Indie Film Festival, Burbank International FF, Big Apple, HollyShorts, Flicker's Rhode Island, Hollywood Horrorfest, and Fade In Awards. If interviewed, you can expect me to ask a ton of project-specific questions right away. It is super important for me to develop a comprehensive understanding of your needs from all angles, so I like to delve deep before digging into the work. You should also know that I'm quite a stickler for deadlines. Something like a full-length screenplay script will take a lot longer than a short explainer video script, so I like to have a very clear idea of when you need the material delivered. It's beneficial for you, but it also allows my bed to know when I'll come home to rest. It gets jealous seeing me spend lots of late nights at my desk.ScreenplayScriptingVideo Game WritingWritingScriptCreative WritingHumorVideo Game DialogueScreenwritingHumor WritingScriptwritingFilm ScreenplayComedyElearning VideoTV Screenplay - $75 hourly
