We're a busy plaintiff-side California law firm with a high active caseload and steady litigation volume. We're looking for a sharp legal writer to join our team as an ongoing, part-time motion-drafting attorney. You'll work behind the scenes drafting motions that our attorneys review, finalize, and file — so you get consistent, interesting work without the client management or court appearances. This is a long-term, recurring engagement, not a one-off project. The right person becomes a reliable part of our workflow. What you'll draft: Discovery motions (motions to compel, separate statements, discovery oppositions) Song-Beverly attorney's fee motions and supporting declarations Oppositions to motions for summary judgment / summary adjudication (MSJ/MSA) What we're looking for Active California bar license (required). Good standing. Strong civil litigation motion-writing experience — you can take a record and produce a clean, persuasive, court-ready draft. Excellent legal research and Shepardizing/KeyCiting; arguments are well-supported and current. Comfortable working from case files, deposition testimony, repair records, and discovery responses. Reliable, responsive, and able to hit deadlines in an active litigation calendar. Lemon law experience is a plus but not required. If you're a strong California civil litigation writer, we'll get you up to speed on the Song-Beverly specifics. What matters most is the quality of your writing and your judgment. Why this role is a good fit: Steady, predictable work — ongoing pipeline, not feast-or-famine. Remote and flexible; you control your hours. No client intake, no court appearances, no billing headaches — just writing. Templates, prior briefs, and a clear style guide to work from. To apply Please include: A short note on your California civil litigation and motion-writing background (mention lemon law experience if any). A writing sample — ideally an MSJ/MSA opposition, motion to compel, or fee motion you drafted (redact anything confidential). Your California bar number and confirmation of good standing. Your availability and rate expectations. Applications without a writing sample will not be considered. We review every qualified application and respond promptly. We're looking to start with a paid test motion, then move into a steady ongoing arrangement with the right writer.

We are hiring an attorney to support multiple entities in drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documents and filings. We're looking for a long-term partner, not a one-off project - someone we can depend on consistently as our client base and contract volume grow. The role starts with a paid one-month trial to confirm fit. Upon successful completion, it moves into an ongoing, as-needed contract relationship; that's the explicit intent, not just a possibility. For resource and budget efficiency, we use AI and legal SaaS (ie. RocketLawyer & similar) to draft first versions of contracts. We need judgment on language, risk allocation, and enforceability, and consistency across documents so they reflect one coherent legal posture over time. We expect you to think like a business partner, not just a drafter. Make sound calls independently, flag risk proactively, and ask clarifying questions early rather than guessing. Scope of Work Contractor and vendor agreements, client-facing contracts (including review and negotiation), entity formation and structure, and trademark research and filings. Additional needs as they arise. Requirements - Active, good-standing admission to the New Jersey state bar (required) - Transactional/business law experience: contracts, LLC formation, trademarks - Looking for ongoing client work, not single-project gigs; please confirm this in your proposal - Practical, business-minded advice, not just technically correct advice - Prompt acknowledgement and responsiveness - replies to messages within 24 business hours (ie. confirm request was received) Hours & Rate ~5-10 hrs/month to start, growing as we add clients - $100/hr, paid weekly through Upwork — below typical NJ rates, offered in exchange for a genuine long-term relationship and consistent monthly work - All work scoped and approved before it begins Logistics Async updates and tracking via ClickUp, with brief syncs as needed. All work product belongs to the agency upon payment; all client and business information is strictly confidential. Future Path As we grow: expanded hours, deeper involvement in client-facing legal structuring, and potentially a formal retainer arrangement.

I am looking for an experienced IP attorney, preferably someone with experience at a larger IP-focused law firm, IP boutique, BigLaw IP practice, or sophisticated patent litigation/prosecution practice. The initial engagement would be a paid 45–60 minute review of a working prototype using public patent documents only. I am not seeking legal advice, and no confidential client information will be reviewed. The goal is to receive practical expert feedback on how to improve the attorney-facing report, workflow, terminology, and usefulness of the analysis. Feedback areas may include: * Whether the risk categories reflect real IP practice * How to make the report more credible and attorney-friendly * What information should be added, removed, or reframed * How the tool could fit into patent prosecution, litigation, diligence, licensing, or portfolio review * What would make the output more valuable to law firms, patent owners, investors, or IP teams Ideal background: * Patent litigation and/or patent prosecution experience * Experience at a larger IP-centric firm, IP boutique, or sophisticated patent practice * Claim analysis, invalidity, infringement, PTAB, licensing, or patent due diligence experience * Ability to give direct, practical feedback based on real-world IP workflows This may become an ongoing advisory relationship as the software is refined. I am especially interested in someone who can provide periodic feedback, suggest improvements, and help make the product more useful for serious IP professionals.
