We are beneficiaries embroiled in a lawsuit with crooked trustees who have made an insane mess out of 3 trusts. The trusts include a CRT. The trustee has already been found negligent by the IRS. We need to examine what happens in a settlement in various scenarios - comparing how tax is imposed if the settlement money flows back through the trust(s) versus if it flows to us directly. Separately, the Trustee misrepesented the liquid asset value of the CRTs on the 706, which the IRS used to calculated deductions for the CRT from one of the primary trusts. Later the trustee had to claw back millions from the CRT to the main trust and distribute it to beneficiaries. We need to understand what liability if any is on her, and/ or flows to us if the IRS finds that fraudulent or negligent or both. And also, what happens if the court replaces her with a professional. Does the 706 get amended? What happens to that tax deduction? Does the trust owe more tax and penalties? We are looking for someone in California who knows California and Federal tax / trust law including foundation rules for CRTs.

California Employment Attorney (Employer Side) – Flat Fee Preferred We are a small California business with approximately 4–5 employees seeking an experienced California employment attorney (or U.S. attorney with significant California employment law experience) to assist with a complex employment matter. We are looking for practical, business-oriented legal advice and hope to establish a long-term relationship with the right attorney for future employment matters. Background The matter involves an employee who worked for our company for approximately seven weeks. During that time, documented performance issues, misconduct, policy violations, disciplinary action, and other workplace concerns arose. The situation has caused significant disruption to our business operations, impacted other employees, consumed substantial management time, and resulted in financial loss to the business. The employee is currently on an accepted workers’ compensation leave following a workplace injury and remains on medical leave. Since going on leave, the employee has continued sending hostile and threatening communications, including threats of legal action, and has continued contacting other employees regarding employment-related matters despite being on leave. We have prepared a detailed chronology together with supporting emails, text messages, disciplinary documentation, and other relevant evidence. Our objective is to end the employment relationship in a legally compliant and well-documented manner while minimizing legal risk. Any employment decision would be based solely on legitimate, documented business reasons that are independent of the workers’ compensation claim or medical leave. Scope of Work (Flat Fee Preferred) We are seeking a fixed-fee proposal for: * Reviewing our chronology and key supporting documentation. * Assessing our legal position and identifying any significant risks. * Advising whether termination is appropriate and the safest timing under California law. * Drafting a legally appropriate termination letter tailored to the circumstances. * Advising on any recommended steps before and after termination to help protect the business, including final pay requirements, company property, communications, and any other important legal considerations. * Advising whether a cease-and-desist letter or other protective measures would be appropriate in response to the ongoing hostile communications and threats. Future Work If we are a good fit, we would like to continue working with the same attorney for future employment matters and, if necessary, representation in responding to any claims, administrative proceedings, or litigation. When Applying Please include: * Your California employment law experience. * Whether you primarily represent employers. * Your experience handling terminations involving employees on workers’ compensation or medical leave. * Your proposed fixed fee for the above scope. * Your hourly rate or fee structure for any future representation. We are looking for experienced, practical counsel who can provide clear guidance and help us navigate this matter carefully while protecting our business.

# CAT Software & Transcript Production Specialist (Remote – Contract) ## Mission **Make sure I never receive another email from a client saying things like:** * "The line numbers are missing." * "The text is printing between the line numbers." * "The page numbers are on the wrong pages." * "The transcript formatting is incorrect." * "The pages don't line up correctly." When the issues listed above are brought to you, you immediately say, "ah, yes I've seen this many times. It's because of XYZ when exporting from x to y..." and then the problem is solved without hesitation.  If formatting problems happen once, I expect them to be permanently solved—not patched until the next transcript. I'm looking for someone who can become the technical expert for transcript production and build systems that show me how to eliminate these issues for good. ## What You'll Do * Diagnose formatting problems at their root cause. * Understand how transcript formatting changes between CAT software and exported files (ASCII, RTF, TXT, DOCX, PDF, etc.). * Configure and standardize export settings. * Troubleshoot AutoScriptOne and other CAT software workflows. * Build a repeatable production process so transcripts leave our office correctly every time. ## You're Probably the Right Person If... * Court reporters come to you when they have formatting problems. * You understand transcript production better than most court reporters. * You know why an export breaks instead of just fixing it manually. * You've worked with CAT software, transcript production, agency workflows, or technical support. ## Test Assignment I'll provide the same transcript in multiple formats. Your goal is not simply to fix it. Your goal is to explain **why** it's happening, permanently solve the issue, and create a workflow that prevents it from ever happening again. I don't want someone who can fix today's transcript. I want someone who can make sure we never have the same problem twice.
