Company Description sojo provides amenities for vacation rentals — but we're not just a product company. We're the vacation rental industry's first amenity automation platform, and a B2B SaaS company operating at the intersection of product, tech, and logistics. We connect directly to property managers' reservation calendars to automate guest amenity delivery — think welcome bundles, toiletry kits, custom-branded coffee packaging, and snack bags waiting for guests when they walk through the door. We handle everything from sourcing products to custom packaging design to making sure the right products are packed and shipped on time for every single reservation. It's a pretty cool thing to tell stories about. Role Description We're building out our video production capability and need a skilled editor who can handle a growing pipeline of content — from polished case study videos to punchy social reels. This role is a great fit for someone with a strong eye for pacing and storytelling who's equally comfortable cutting a 10-minute client interview into a 30-second reel and producing a polished explainer from scratch. Here's what you'll be working on: - Client Case Studies. Video components to live alongside written case studies on our website — polished, story-driven, and sales-ready. - Social Reels. Cut existing long-form client interviews down into tight, high-impact reels for Instagram and LinkedIn. - How It Works Video. We'll script it — you help us execute and bring it to life. - Paid Ad Creatives. Short-form video assets optimized for paid social. - Ongoing Social Content. A regular cadence of reels and short-form video for organic social. What We're Looking For - Strong editing fundamentals — pacing, cuts, sequencing, and storytelling. - Social-native — you know how to edit for Reels: hooks, captions, retention. - Comfortable with motion graphics, lower thirds, and animated text. - Sound design chops — music selection, mixing, VO cleanup. - Able to work from provided footage *and* occasionally source or lightly direct when we don't have raw assets. - Bonus: Experience with testimonial or B2B case study video content. - Responsive, reliable, and able to turn around projects quickly. - Familiarity with Air, Notion, Slack, and Figma a plus. To Apply Share your reel or portfolio — bonus points if you include an example of a social cut from a longer interview. Include a note on your turnaround time and your rate.

I run a faceless YouTube channel focused on geography, countries, and culture content (think Geography Now, RealLifeLore, Half as Interesting). I'm looking for a skilled video editor to join long-term and turn scripts/voiceovers into polished, engaging long-form videos. This is ongoing work — if we're a good fit, I want to build a lasting working relationship with a consistent weekly delivery schedule. What You'll Be Doing Edit long-form videos (10–18 minutes) from a provided script and AI or human voiceover track Source and incorporate relevant stock footage, maps, and images to match the narration Add simple motion graphics: animated maps, borders, flags, zoom-ins/pans (Ken Burns style), lower thirds, and callout text Add clean, accurate captions/subtitles Edit for pacing — keep viewer retention high with cuts, zooms, and visual variety synced to the voiceover Basic sound design: background music selection/mixing, sound effects, audio leveling Deliver a YouTube-ready MP4 export plus source project file

Job Title Copyeditor / Proofreader — 13,800-word nonfiction book (final polish, preserve voice) Job Description I’ve written a ~13,800-word nonfiction book for lash artists — a guide to body mechanics, ergonomics, and career longevity. The manuscript is complete and has already been through extensive developmental and line editing. I now need a professional copyedit and proofread for the final polish before design. This is copyediting and proofreading ONLY. I’m not looking for developmental editing, restructuring, or rewriting.

What I need A full line edit and copyedit of the manuscript, checking grammar, punctuation, spelling, and consistency (timeline, names, formatting) Preservation of first-person voice throughout, with no rewording for style unless something is a genuine error A tracked-changes version I can review and accept or reject line by line, plus a brief editorial note at the end flagging any recurring issues No use of em dashes anywhere in suggested edits Familiarity with or willingness to follow a locked style sheet I will provide (banned words and phrases, formatting rules) TOXIC — Style Sheet for Editors Manuscript by Serena Amari (pen name) | Memoir, approx. 19,000 words, 31 chapters Voice and Point of View ● First person throughout. Do not shift to second or third person for the author's own experience, even in passages that feel reflective or distanced. ● Voice is plain, observational, and restrained. Avoid suggesting edits that add literary flourish or emotional intensifying language. ● Tone is graceful, not accusatory. The author is not attacking her daughter in the text; do not flag this as a gap or suggest "balancing" language. Hard Rules — No Exceptions ● No em dashes anywhere. Use commas, semicolons, periods, or restructured sentences instead. ● No meta-commentary about the manuscript itself (no lines like "this is why I am writing this book" or similar self-referential framing). ● No invented details, quotes, or facts. Flag anything that reads as unverifiable rather than adding to it. Banned Words and Phrases ● AI-pattern vocabulary: delve, tapestry, nuanced, resonate, navigate, underscores, highlights, robust, framework, speaks to, and similar. ● Filler phrases: "Let me say this plainly," "I want to sit with that," "the way X always does," "and I will not pretend otherwise," "That is worth saying plainly," or close variants of any of these. ● "Door" metaphors (e.g., closing doors, open doors) and "sickness" language used metaphorically for the estrangement. ● Formulaic sign-offs or summary sentences that wrap up a chapter with a tidy moral. Names and Privacy ● No real names for any family members appear in the text. Family members are referred to by their relationship to the author (daughter, husband, mother, etc.). Preserve this; do not suggest adding names for clarity. ● The author writes under the pen name Serena Amari. This is intentional and should not be flagged. Scope of This Edit ● This is a line and copyedit, not a developmental edit. Structure, chapter order, and content are locked. ● Grammar, punctuation, spelling, and consistency (timeline, formatting, recurring details) are in scope. ● Rewording for style is out of scope unless something is a clear grammatical or mechanical error. Questions about any of the above should go to the author before changes are made. Thank you in advance!

I'm a licensed clinician and parenting expert building an education brand for parents of struggling kids and teens. I create all the raw content myself — talking-head videos and podcast recordings. I need one reliable person to turn that raw material into polished, published content every week. This is an execution role, not a strategy role. The content calendar, topics, and brand voice are already defined. Your job is to make the machine run. Weekly deliverables: Edit 3–4 Instagram Reels (60–90 sec) from raw talking-head footage I provide: trim dead air, add burned-in captions, add a text hook on screen, export to Instagram spec Edit 1 podcast episode (20–30 min): clean audio, cut restarts and flagged sections, upload to Buzzsprout with the title and description I approve Pull 2–3 short clips from each podcast episode for use as Reels Schedule all posts in the weekly content calendar (Later, Metricool, or similar) Light account management from a guideline doc: follow relevant accounts, flag comments and DMs that need my personal reply (you will not respond as me on substantive messages) Workflow: I batch-record and drop raw files in a shared Google Drive folder once a week with brief notes. You return edited drafts within 72 hours. One revision round per piece. One short weekly check-in call for the first month, then async. You're a fit if you have: A portfolio with talking-head educational or expert content (coaches, clinicians, educators — not just montages or meme edits) Native-level written English — captions must be accurate, including clinical vocabulary Experience with captioning/subtitling tools and at least one audio editor (Descript, CapCut, Premiere, Audacity — your choice, I care about output) A clear delivery process: organized files, consistent naming, deadlines met without chasing Good judgment about tone. This content deals with struggling kids and worried parents. It is direct but never clickbait. If your instinct is trending audio and rapid jump cuts, this isn't the right fit. Where this goes: This role starts focused, but it won't stay small. The brand has several additional offerings launching over the next year — a podcast expansion, parent programs, and professional training — and each will need content and social media support. My strong preference is to expand this role rather than hire around it. The person who proves themselves in the first three months has first claim on that growth. Compensation structure: $500/month flat retainer covering the deliverables above (works out to roughly $115–$125/week, or about $15–$18/hr at the expected 6–8 hrs/week). Paid through Upwork weekly milestones. As scope expands per the above, the retainer will be renegotiated upward to match. To apply: Link 2–3 examples of talking-head content you've edited (Reels, TikToks, or YouTube Shorts) Tell me in 2–3 sentences how you'd handle a raw 5-minute clip where the strongest moment is buried at the 3-minute mark Start your proposal with the word "ANCHOR" so I know you read this far Shortlisted candidates will be offered a short paid test edit before hiring.
