I’m looking for an experienced CAD/mechanical design engineer to help refine a V2 design for a compact drone-mounted sensor payload. I already have a base design and clear feedback for the next revision. The overall design changes should be relatively minimal, but I need someone who can carefully update the CAD and validate a few critical mechanical/optical constraints. The payload involves a fixed camera and a rotating scan-head assembly used to redirect the sensor’s field of view. The goal of this V2 pass is to improve the design for weight, balance, sensor field-of-view coverage, and drone integration. Primary responsibilities: • Review the existing/base CAD design • Implement V2 design feedback and requested mechanical tweaks • Ensure the payload has a balanced center of gravity suitable for drone mounting • Use CAD and/or simulation tools to evaluate balance, mass distribution, and rotation stability • Accurately model/project the camera sensor’s field of view through the scan-head geometry • Check for field-of-view clipping, vignetting, or mechanical interference Required experience: • Strong CAD experience, ideally Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, or similar • Mechanical design experience with small assemblies • Ability to evaluate center of gravity, mass properties, and balance • Ability to model or simulate sensor field-of-view geometry • Comfortable working from an existing design rather than starting from scratch • Able to move quickly and communicate clearly Huge plus if you have experience with: • Drone payloads or UAV-mounted hardware • Lightweight mechanical design • Rotating assemblies • Optical/sensor field-of-view modeling • Cameras or imaging payloads • Electrical engineering or basic electronics integration • 3D printing / prototype-ready mechanical design Also bonus if you live in or near Southern Utah (where I'm located). Timeline: I’m looking for a quick turnaround and will hire immediately. Since this is a V2 refinement based on an existing design, I’d ideally like the updated design returned in under one week. Confidentiality / ownership: This project is confidential. All concepts, ideas, designs, CAD files, improvements, and related work product will be owned by me/my company. By accepting the job, you agree not to share, reuse, publish, or disclose any project details, files, or designs without written permission. Please include examples of relevant CAD/mechanical design work, especially anything involving drones, lightweight payloads, rotating assemblies, or sensor/optical field-of-view modeling.

Project: Custom USB Port Panel — Physical Part Modification I'm mailing you a small glossy black plastic automotive dash blank that already fits flush in its mounting location. I need it modified to incorporate one or two USB-C ports on its front face. What I need: One USB-C port minimum, two preferred if structurally workable Ports must sit flush or very slightly recessed — not protruding Front port will be plugged/unplugged several times weekly — needs to be solid, no wobble Rear port (if two) is semi-permanent once installed — still needs firm seating Finished piece must fit its mounting location exactly as the original does The job itself is conceptually simple but requires a careful, skilled hand — the blank is small, the tolerances matter, and the finish needs to remain clean. This isn't complex engineering, just precise craftsmanship. Regarding 3D printing: I'd like a small 3D printed housing designed to hold the USB-C ports securely within the blank — essentially a snug bracket the ports snap or press into, which then mounts cleanly to the back of the blank. This avoids epoxying directly to the port metal and gives a proper stable mounting point. Housing material should be heat-tolerant (PETG preferred). Important: Please modify the original blank rather than reprint — the highly glossy black finish is not replicable via 3D printing. What I'm mailing: The original blank Two USB-C cables — ports can be harvested directly from these Timeline: No rush — quality over speed. If unable to complete: Please return all mailed components unused.

Job Description I'm developing a small cast cauldron for a seasonal Halloween candle product. Melted wax will be poured directly into the cauldron itself (it's the candle vessel, not just a holder for a separate candle). I need a designer to turn my concept into manufacturing-ready files. What I need: - A 3D CAD model of a small cauldron shape, suitable for metal casting (cast iron) - Deliverables in .STP (STEP) format for the 3D model - A dimensioned 2D drawing in PDF format, suitable to send to a foundry for a manufacturing quote Design details: - Approximate size: [fill in — e.g., 3–4 inches tall, 3 inches diameter] - Style: traditional round cauldron shape with three short legs and a small looped handle on both sides - Intended use: candle wax will be poured directly into the cauldron (this is not a holder for a separate tealight. The cauldron itself is the vessel the wax cures in). Design needs to account for: - A solid, leak-free pour (no porosity or seams that could let hot wax escape) -vWall thickness suitable for containing hot liquid wax (~180–200°F pour temp) without excessive heat transfer to the outside surface - Interior surface/finish that is safe for direct wax contact (no toxic coatings or platings on the inside) - A wick placement/centering point if possible (e.g., a small interior tab or the base design accommodating a wick sticker) - Material: cast iron - Should account for basic casting requirements (draft angles, wall thickness, avoiding sharp internal corners, etc.) since this will go straight to a foundry for a quote Ideal freelancer: - Experience designing parts specifically for casting or metal manufacturing (not just general product rendering) - Comfortable producing foundry-ready files, not just concept art - Bonus: past experience with cookware, decorative metal goods, or similar cast products To apply, please include: - Examples of past CAD work, especially anything designed for casting/manufacturing - Your estimated turnaround time - Any questions about the design before we get started I have reference images/sketches I can share once we connect. This is a small, well-defined project. It's ideal for someone who can turn it around quickly and is comfortable communicating clearly about casting design constraints. Budget Fixed Price - Open to Discussion Skills CAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Product Design, 3D Modeling, STEP File, Manufacturing Design, Casting Design, Mechanical Design Thank you for your interest!

We are launching a small wholesale product company that makes miniature 3D-printed versions of beloved local signs, landmarks, and tourist photo-op displays. We need a reliable 3D modeler who can take photo references and create clean, printable files for a Bambu Lab printer. The style is usually flat-backed, low-relief, colorful, readable, and product-ready rather than highly detailed sculpture. Think miniature souvenir signs, town name signs, Route 66-style signs, and small display pieces. We need someone who can create: - STL and/or 3MF files - Bambu Studio-ready files when color separation is needed - Clean, watertight, printable models - Designs that work at small sizes - Files suitable for commercial product use - Simple variations, such as changing town names. Please include: - Examples of 3D printable products you have designed - Any examples of signage, relief models, ornaments, magnets, miniatures, or product-style STL files - Your usual turnaround time - Your rate for simple product files - Whether you can provide commercial-use rights/ownership transfer We would like to begin with a paid test project using one reference photo. If the test goes well, we are looking to build an ongoing relationship. Attached is an example of what we are looking for.

We are building the visual identity for an industrial workforce brand. Our audience consists of builders, technicians, maintenance professionals, veterans, warehouse workers, IT professionals, and early-career engineers who want to build projects after work and create a technical portfolio. It should feel closer to Rogue Fitness, Yeti, Caterpillar, Milwaukee Tool, or premium industrial brands. We already have a brand board built and the pieces of what we want the brand to feel like. Your role: Help us create a cohesive visual definition of the brand and implement it across digital assets (social + landing pages, etc) Must be comfortable completing the full-cycle design process and go from concept to brand assets to live web assets. This will start in phases to get the visual definition locked in using Figma. Then we are looking to have a landing page built to represent the product. For the right designer this could be a longer term engagement. Please share your portfolio as we know the style we’re looking for. Also provide context around how you work bringing brand concepts to life. Share links to any websites showing the Figma and then Live website implementing that design. Lastly include your availability and rate
