Job description: I'm a serial entrepreneur and the co-founder/former CEO of Suja Juice. I've just finished a book and I'm looking for ONE experienced project manager to own the entire self-publishing process end-to-end, from finished manuscript to live on Amazon. I'm not technical and I don't want to coordinate multiple freelancers — I want one professional who handles (or subcontracts and manages) cover design, interior formatting, KDP setup, and the technical upload of all formats. About the book: The Art of the Startup: A Founder's Playbook for Building and Scaling a $100 Million CPG Brand It's a non-fiction business book in three woven parts: Entrepreneurial memoir — my journey across nine companies over the past 30 years, including $212M raised and roughly $700M returned to investors Field guide — frameworks and lessons for early-stage CPG founders (pre-launch, fundraising, scaling, partnerships, pivots, exits) The Suja story — how Suja Juice grew from zero to $100M in six years, survived a near-death moment when Coca-Cola walked away, and recently went public at a $750M valuation The manuscript is ~206 pages, ~60,000 words, professionally edited, and final. Foreword by Jay Shetty. Advance praise from Seth Goldman (Honest Tea), Mark Rampolla (ZICO), John Foraker (Annie's), and Kim Perell (Juni). Target readers: founders, operators, CPG professionals, MBA students, investors. Think shelf-mates like Shoe Dog, The Hard Thing About Hard Things, Mission in a Bottle, Grinding It Out. Full scope of work: Cover design — front, spine, back covers for paperback, hardcover, and ebook thumbnail. Should feel premium and sit comfortably next to bestselling business memoirs Interior formatting / typesetting — print-ready PDFs for paperback (6×9) and hardcover, plus reflowable EPUB for Kindle. Book includes frameworks, callouts, and likely some diagrams KDP account setup (or onboarding to my existing account as a manager) Upload all three formats to KDP — paperback, hardcover, Kindle ebook Metadata, keyword, and category optimization for Amazon discoverability Order and review proof copies; manage revisions through to final approval Walk me through launch day and confirm all formats are live and linked on the Amazon product page Out of scope (handling separately): Final proofread (will be done before files go to you) Audiobook production Marketing, PR, launch publicity Author website What I need in your proposal: 3–5 examples of non-fiction books (ideally business, memoir, or entrepreneurship) you have personally taken from manuscript to live on Amazon — please include direct Amazon links 2 author references I can speak with Your process in 5–7 bullets — how you'd run this project from kickoff to launch Confirmation that you (or your team under your management) handle ALL of: cover design, interior formatting, AND the technical KDP upload of paperback + hardcover + Kindle. If you outsource any piece, tell me to whom and how you manage quality Timeline with milestones Fee structure — flat rate preferred, with revision rounds clearly defined. Please break out cover, interior, and KDP setup so I understand the components One question you would ask me before starting, that would meaningfully change how you approach the project Proposals that don't address all seven items will not be considered. Please don't send templates. Budget: Open. I'm prioritizing quality and fit over price — but I also know what this work should cost, so please be realistic in both directions. Timeline: Looking to start within 2–3 weeks, with the book live on Amazon within 10–12 weeks of kickoff. Skills to tag on the post: Book Design, Book Cover Design, Ebook Design, Kindle Direct Publishing, Amazon KDP, Book Layout, Typesetting, Adobe InDesign, Self-Publishing, Project Management, Non-Fiction

I'm seeking an experienced copyeditor for my manuscript made up of a collections of Sermons and a Play on Shared Struggle, Shared Seed, Shared Future — a complete 217-page, 54,499-word manuscript collecting sermons and a stage play rooted in ecowomanist theology and the Black preaching tradition. Scope of work: Copyediting and light line editing: grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency A specific mechanical fix list will be provided (known items already flagged) Consistency check on Greek and Hebrew transliterations across sermons (e.g., kaiomenē, parabiazomai, ruach, YHWH styling) Consistency on recurring names and terms (e.g., "First Baptist Church of Waukegan," Scripture citation formatting) What this project is NOT: This is not a rewrite or developmental edit. The manuscript is finished. Do not standardize the voice. These are sermons written in the oral tradition of the Black church — intentional repetition, rhythm, sentence fragments, call-and-response phrasing, and vernacular are features, not errors. If a passage sounds like a preacher in a pulpit, it is correct. The exegetical notes sections are intentionally distinct in register from the sermon manuscripts and should remain so. The closing epilogue is written in a prophetic voice describing the future as already accomplished. This tense choice is intentional and theological — do not correct it to conditional or hopeful phrasing. Ideal editor: Experience editing faith-based, theological, or academic-adjacent manuscripts Familiarity with the Black preaching tradition and/or womanist/liberation theology strongly preferred Comfortable querying rather than changing when uncertain Timeline: 5–7 days from hire Deliverable: Edited manuscript with tracked changes + brief style notes Please share relevant samples or titles you've edited, your rate, and your availability to start this week.

have a non-fiction manuscript titled Exposed, approximately 80 pages, written in American English but originally translated from Spanish. My goal is for the final version to read as though it were natively written in fluent, natural American English for a general readership, with no hint of it being a translation. Here’s what I expect from you: • Transform overly literal or mechanical passages into smooth, idiomatic American English while keeping my authorial voice and Dominican cultural nuances intact. • Ensure each chapter flows naturally and reads clearly, refining sentence structure for both readability and coherence. • Make the text engaging while polishing grammar and eliminating inconsistencies or redundant phrasing. Deliverables: 1. A clean final version that reads effortlessly to an American audience. 2. A tracked-changes file to show edits made throughout. I’m willing to pay for a 5 pages test. If you are bilingual: American English/Spanish it will be a plus. If you have experience adapting texts or manuscripts written by non-native English speakers so they seamlessly align with U.S. cultural expectations while preserving the original intent and tone, I’d love to work with you! Bonus points if you've worked on non-fiction books targeting a general audience.

I'm an author with an 8-book Christian middle-grade series, The Brave Girls of the Bible Club (ages 8–12), and I'm looking for an editor for the whole series. The series at a glance: Five modern girls discover a magical trunk in their church basement that transports them into the stories of courageous women of the Bible. Each book teaches one real-world skill (courage, leadership, emotional honesty, resilience, identity, gifts, empathy) and ends with a parent–daughter discussion guide. The eight books feature Esther, Deborah, Hannah, Ruth, Mary Magdalene, Priscilla, Miriam, and an ensemble finale. Scope: 8 books, ~4,000–6,000 words each — roughly 38,000 words total Already fully drafted, formatted, and consistent in style (Word/.docx files) Each book: 7–8 chapters plus back matter (discussion guide, journal pages) These manuscripts are already written and in a fixed brand voice. I'm looking for editing and continuity checking, not rewriting. Specifically: Line/copy edit — grammar, clarity, flow, age-appropriate language for 8–12. Series continuity — consistency across all 8 books (character details, the trunk's "rules," recurring phrasing, the deepening faith arc). Scripture accuracy — confirming the biblical retellings and references are handled faithfully. I don't want the text rewritten or "elevated" into a different style, just polished and made consistent. Before I commit to all eight, would you be open to a paid sample edit of one chapter (~1,500 words)? That lets me see your editing style and confirm we're a good fit. If it goes well, I'd then want a bulk quote for the full series (~38,000 words) and your estimated turnaround. A few quick questions: Are you comfortable with middle-grade fiction (not just devotionals/picture books)? Do you work in Word with tracked changes so I can review every edit? What's your rate for the one-chapter sample, and roughly for the full series? The ideal candidate will have experience in Christian content and middle-grade books, ensuring the series is engaging and suitable for the target audience. This is a long-term project requiring a commitment to editing all 8 books.
