About the Role We're hiring an Engagement Marketing Manager to own the entire post-install lifecycle for our mobile app(s). You'll be responsible for turning new users into active, retained, monetizing users through push, in-app messaging, email, and every other channel that touches a user after they've downloaded. This is not a brand role. This is a numbers role. You will be measured on D1/D7/D30 retention, session frequency, push opt-in rates, reactivation, and LTV. What You'll Own Lifecycle strategy. Map every user state (new install, activated, engaged, dormant, churned) and build the messaging architecture that moves users between them. Push notifications. Strategy, copy, segmentation, send-time optimization, opt-in rate improvement, and rich push (images, deep links, action buttons). In-app messaging. Modals, tooltips, banners, and contextual nudges that drive feature adoption and habit formation. Email and SMS where applicable, including welcome flows, re-engagement, transactional, and win-back campaigns. Segmentation and personalization. Build behavioral cohorts and deliver the right message to the right user at the right moment. A/B testing. Continuous experimentation on copy, timing, frequency, channel mix, and creative. You'll run dozens of tests per quarter. Reactivation and win-back. Own dormant user reactivation as a dedicated workstream, not an afterthought. Cross-functional partnership. Work with product, data, design, and paid acquisition to align on funnel metrics and user experience. What We're Looking For 4+ years in lifecycle, CRM, or engagement marketing, with at least 2 years focused on mobile apps (iOS and Android). Hands-on experience with a mobile engagement platform: Braze, Iterable, CleverTap, OneSignal, Customer.io, MoEngage, or similar. Strong analytical instincts. You're comfortable in Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar, and you can pull your own cohorts without waiting on data science. Sharp copywriting. Push notifications are 40 characters of poetry. You either get it or you don't. Deep understanding of mobile-specific dynamics: push permission prompts, iOS notification settings, deep linking, App Store behavior, and platform fragmentation. Track record of measurable retention or engagement lift (be ready to talk specifics). Experience with segmentation, predictive modeling, or ML-driven personalization is a plus.
