Job Description Project Overview We have a fully code-complete Micro-SaaS platform called BounceBack SMS. The app is an automated missed-call text-back and lead recovery system built using Next.js 15, Tailwind CSS, Twilio API, and Supabase. The repository is isolated, structured, and securely hosted in a private GitHub repository. We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack/DevOps Engineer to handle the production deployment, configure live API pipelines, manage database environment mapping, and ensure the entire setup runs on a frictionless, automated continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) framework. Scope of Work (Key Deliverables) 1. Infrastructure Mapping & Production Deployment Deploy the Next.js 15 frontend/backend application from our private GitHub repository to production hosting (Vercel/Render). Map and connect production environment variables, database schemas, and connection strings to our live database instance (Supabase/PostgreSQL). Configure a permanent automated CI/CD pipeline (e.g., GitHub Actions or Vercel integration) ensuring any future push to the main branch automatically rebuilds and deploys the app flawlessly. 2. Twilio API & A2P 10DLC Compliance Configuration Connect and secure our live Twilio API gateways within the backend architecture. Audit and verify that our messaging endpoints cleanly support incoming webhooks for missed-call detection. Crucial Milestone: Assist and audit our US A2P 10DLC Campaign Registration via Twilio to ensure 100% carrier delivery compliance (Privacy Policy and Terms pages are already live and coded in the repo). 3. Live Stripe Billing Integration Transition our checkout environment variables from Stripe Sandbox/Test Mode into Live Production Mode. Wire up our exact pricing architecture: $0 Setup Fee, 100 Free Leads Usage Trial, transitioning into a flat $19.99/Month Recurring Subscription. Ensure Stripe webhooks are completely listening to successfully provision, pause, or update customer account access tiers inside our database based on subscription state. 4. Handover & Bulletproof Documentation Provide a brief, plaintext .txt or .md technical handover file outlining the deployed environment structure, a list of active API webhooks, and step-by-step instructions for simple environment variable updates. Required Tech Stack Expertise Frameworks: Next.js 15 (App Router), React, Tailwind CSS Database: Supabase / PostgreSQL (Schema sync, migrations, security policies) APIs: Twilio SMS Gateway (Webhook architecture, A2P 10DLC registration compliance) Payment Rail: Stripe Billing API (Usage-based trials, recurring webhooks) DevOps/Version Control: Git, Private GitHub Repositories, Vercel/Render, CI/CD automation Preferred Qualifications Proven track record deploying independent Micro-SaaS or automation applications. Deep familiarity with strict US telecom carrier A2P SMS delivery guidelines to prevent messaging blocking or spam flags. Obsession with clean environment variable separation—absolutely no hardcoded credentials. Excellent technical communication skills and availability to run live end-to-end integration testing before final milestone sign-off. 🎯 Candidate Screening Questions (Include on Upwork) 1. Briefly describe your experience configuring Twilio webhooks and handling the US A2P 10DLC registration process to ensure high carrier delivery rates. 2. How would you configure Stripe to trigger a recurring $19.99/mo flat-rate subscription specifically after a user consumes exactly 100 free database actions/leads? 3. Confirm that you are comfortable working out of a private GitHub repository and setting up an automated CI/CD pipeline so I never have to manually pay for developer redeployments.

OVERVIEW We are a technical advisory firm that partners with VC-backed companies to design, build, and scale their engineering foundations. We embed with our clients as a core part of their technical team, not as outside consultants handing over a document, but as engineers who own the outcome alongside them. Our current client is a VC-backed company operating in the auto logistics space. They're at an exciting and critical stage: they have product-market fit, they have backing, and now they need to build the production infrastructure to match their ambitions. We've been brought in to lead that build, and we're looking for a senior full stack engineer to join us for it. This is a greenfield backend API platform built in TypeScript on Node.js with Express or Fastify, and you'd be involved from the very beginning. That means shaping the architecture, setting the patterns, and building something that will need to handle real production load in a fast-moving, operationally complex industry. The backend we're building needs to be reliable, well-structured, and built to grow. If you want to do meaningful backend work on a greenfield codebase, in a real industry with real complexity, working with a team that has high standards, this is the opportunity. WHAT YOU'LL BE BUILDING A production-grade backend API platform in TypeScript on Node.js, using Express or Fastify. Because we're starting from scratch, the early decisions carry significant weight and you'll be part of making them. API architecture, project structure, middleware conventions, authentication approach, error handling, observability, data access patterns: these are all on the table and we want engineers who have opinions about them informed by experience. Day-to-day you'll be writing and reviewing TypeScript, contributing to architecture and design discussions, collaborating with the team on Slack, and joining at least one Zoom sync per week with the broader team and client stakeholders. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 5 to 10 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend or full stack background. Specifically: - Fluent in TypeScript with a solid working knowledge of the Node.js runtime, including async patterns, error propagation, and performance characteristics, not just the surface API - Hands-on Express and/or Fastify experience with real APIs built using them, a clear understanding of their trade-offs, and the ability to make informed structural decisions without needing to be guided - A track record of shipping and operating production systems, having been accountable for something running live, having handled production incidents, and thinking seriously about reliability, logging, and failure modes. - Comfort operating in a greenfield environment with some ambiguity, able to ask the right questions, help define what isn't yet defined, and take ownership of outcomes rather than waiting for a fully formed spec. - Strong English communication skills, written and spoken. We're a distributed team, async-first on Slack, and we interface directly with a client whose business is moving fast. Clear communication is as important as clean code US-based strongly preferred with meaningful overlap with US business hours required for team and client collaboration NICE TO HAVE - Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) - Familiarity with authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC) - API versioning strategy experience - CI/CD pipeline experience - Domain familiarity with logistics, fleet management, or supply chain systems is a genuine bonus HOW WE WORK We are a tight team with high standards and low tolerance for vague communication or dropped balls. Slack is our primary channel, async-first with responsiveness expected during working hours. We sync on Zoom at least weekly, more often during active design and planning phases. We use Jira for our ticket management. You'll receive a Microsoft 365 account on hire for SSO access to all internal and client tooling from day one. We don't micromanage. What we do expect is proactive communication, early flagging of blockers, and the kind of ownership that comes naturally to engineers who treat a codebase as something worth getting right, not just getting done. On a greenfield project with a client at a pivotal growth stage, that distinction matters. HIRING PROCESS - Intro call (15 min) - the firm, the client, the project, your background, and your questions - Technical screen (if applicable, via Coderbyte) - Background check - standard criminal background check required for all hires, no exceptions - Offer and onboarding - Microsoft 365 account and full tooling access provisioned before day one HOW TO APPLY We read every proposal that makes a genuine effort. Please include: - A description of a production backend system you've built, including what it did, the scale it operated at, your specific contributions, and what decisions you made that you're proud of or would revisit today - Your honest assessment of your TypeScript and Node.js depth. We value specifics and self-awareness over a list of buzzwords Links to code, whether GitHub, open source contributions, a portfolio, or anything else that shows us how you think and work We work with companies at inflection points and we hold ourselves and the engineers we bring in to a high standard. If this project sounds like the kind of work you want to do, make that clear in your proposal and tell us why this domain, this stage, and this type of build appeals to you specifically.

Developer needed to launch a family organizer app (backend + accounts) Short version I’ve already built a working prototype of a family management app. It looks and behaves the way I want. What it can’t do yet is the “behind the scenes” part: save information in one shared place so every family member sees the same thing on their own phone, let each person log in, and send reminder notifications. I need a developer to build that part and get the app live so my family can actually use it on our phones. One thing that matters a lot to me, please read carefully: after you finish, I need to be able to keep changing and improving the app myself, working with an AI assistant — without having to hire or contact anyone again. So everything you build has to be handed over to me completely, written cleanly and simply, and explained well enough that an AI assistant can understand it and help me make future edits. No locked-down systems, no “only I can touch this” setups, no surprise dependencies. I own all of it. What the app is It’s a private organizer for my household (two parents, six kids). It has five sections: • Today — a daily summary for each person (their schedule, their tasks, family meal/afternoon plans). • Schedule — a weekly calendar: who’s driving which kid to which school, each parent’s work day and hours, kids’ activities, meal and afternoon plans. • Chores — daily and weekly tasks you can assign to specific people, and check off when done. • Lists — grocery and supply lists. • Tonight — an evening summary of chores that still aren’t finished. The look, layout, colors, and how everything behaves are already done. I’m not asking you to design anything. I’m asking you to make it real and shared. What I need you to build 1. One shared place to store our information (the part it’s missing most). Right now, anything I type only saves on the device I typed it on. My wife’s phone and the kids’ devices don’t see it. I need all our information kept in one shared online location so that when anyone makes a change, everyone else’s device updates too, within a few seconds. 2. A login for each family member. Simple and family-friendly: you open the app, tap your name from a list, and type a PIN. Once you’ve logged in on your own phone, it should keep you logged in so you don’t have to do it every time. Every person — both parents and all six kids — gets their own login. Parents can edit everything; kids mainly see their own stuff and check off their own chores. The app already has a built-in “who’s using this” concept; your login system just needs to drive it for real. 3. Notifications to people’s phones. • Every morning, each person gets a notification with their summary for the day. • Every evening at 8:00 PM, each person gets a reminder of any chores they haven’t finished that day. The app already knows exactly what each of those messages should say — I just need them actually delivered to phones on schedule. 4. Shared photo proof for kids’ chores. When a kid marks a chore done, the app already makes them take a photo as proof. Right now that photo is stuck on the kid’s device. I need those photos saved in our shared location so my wife and I can see them from our own phones. What “done” looks like • My family can install or open the app on our phones and each log in with our name and PIN. • A change one person makes shows up on everyone else’s device. • Morning summaries and 8:00 PM chore reminders arrive as phone notifications. • Kids’ chore photos are visible to the parents on their own devices. • It runs reliably without me needing to babysit it. Very important: I need to be able to maintain it myself afterward I work on this app with an AI assistant, and I plan to keep improving it that way for a long time. So I’m asking that you: • Hand over everything — all the code, all the accounts and passwords, all the settings — in my name, owned by me. Nothing stays under your account. • Write it cleanly and simply. Please don’t over-complicate it or add tools and layers that aren’t truly needed. The simpler and more standard it is, the easier it is for me and an AI assistant to understand and change later. • Comment and document it in plain terms: what each part does, where things live, and how to make common changes (like adding a person, changing a notification time, or adjusting a list). • Write a short “how it works” guide for a non-developer — how to find things, how to change them safely, and how to undo a mistake. • Avoid lock-in. Use widely used, well-known building blocks (the kind an AI assistant will already understand), not anything obscure or proprietary that only you would know how to maintain. • Do a handoff call or video walking me through it so I’m comfortable taking it from there. If anything about how it’s built would make it hard for me to edit later on my own, please tell me up front. To apply, please tell me • A short note, in plain English, on how you’d approach this — especially how you’ll keep it simple and easy for me to maintain myself afterward. • Whether you’d build it so it works on iPhones and Android (and whether that’s a website-style app or an installable app — explain the trade-offs simply). • A rough estimate of cost and timeline. • One or two examples of similar things you’ve built. A few notes • This is a private app for my family only — not something I’m selling. It doesn’t need to handle thousands of users, just the eight of us. • Privacy matters: it includes my kids’ photos and our daily whereabouts, so it needs to be kept private and secure. • I already have the full working front end (the part you see and tap). I’ll share it with the right person. You’re building the engine behind it and getting it onto our phones.

Preferably the web developer would live in or near Minneapolis, MN. The website would be simple and clean with the ability to have user logins. Once logged in, there would need to be a database (updated instantly throughout) of what is available to the users to rent/lease from each other. The website would just be the facilitator between company #1 and company #2. It would need the ability to pay on the site but it would only need to be for yearly memberships, not daily purchases. Also, each user will need an easy-to-use portal to add or remove their available inventory. As well as be able to describe their inventory with some detail and maybe a photo. Nothing special, just wanted to give some more details. Looking for a mobile friendly website as I don't believe I need to go full app with this business. I don't have the specific timeline I would need it done by but that can be discussed once we chat more about this.
