You will be the human authority on accessibility certification — automation accelerates the work; you own the judgment and the official artifacts. What You'll Do Perform manual accessibility testing using the DHS Trusted Tester process against Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 AA. Run and triage automated scans (axe-core, Pa11y, Colour Contrast Analyser) inside the CI pipeline. Test with assistive technology (JAWS/NVDA/VoiceOver, keyboard-only); validate ARIA, semantic structure, color/contrast, captions. Produce official conformance artifacts (e.g., Section 508 Compliance Report / VPAT-style outputs). Provide remediation guidance to developers; review storyboards and GUI mock-ups so accessibility is designed in early. Help maintain accessibility standards aligned to the USWDS. Required Qualifications (Must Meet) Current DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester certification (Trusted Tester v5 / TTv5). 3+ years of hands-on web accessibility testing to Section 508 / WCAG 2.1 (2.2 AA preferred). Demonstrated experience with screen readers, keyboard testing, ARIA, and automated accessibility tools. Preferred Federal accessibility experience; IAAP CPACC or WAS.
