Company Description sojo provides amenities for vacation rentals — but we're not just a product company. We're the vacation rental industry's first amenity automation platform, and a B2B SaaS company operating at the intersection of product, tech, and logistics. We connect directly to property managers' reservation calendars to automate guest amenity delivery — think welcome bundles, toiletry kits, custom-branded coffee packaging, and snack bags waiting for guests when they walk through the door. We handle everything from sourcing products to custom packaging design to making sure the right products are packed and shipped on time for every single reservation. It's a pretty cool thing to write about — and build for. Role Description We're a small but mighty marketing team looking for a Shopify Designer / Developer who can own landing pages end-to-end — from concept to build. No wireframes handed to you here. We'll brief you on goals, share inspiration references, and trust you to translate that into a high-converting, on-brand page. This role is a great fit for someone who thinks visually *and* technically and doesn't need a hand-holding process to produce great work. A note on our team: We're currently building out a small roster of freelance talent — including an SEO Expert and a Copywriter. If you work within a team or have a trusted network across these disciplines, we'd love to know. Here's what you'll be working on: - Campaign Landing Pages. Build high-converting pages for lead gen, product launches, and paid campaigns — designed and developed by you from a brief and inspiration references. - Ongoing Site Updates. Contribute to improvements across our Shopify site as our marketing needs evolve. - Cross-functional Collaboration. Work closely with our marketing, content, and SEO teams to make sure pages are built to perform. What We're Looking For - Proven Shopify design *and* development experience — portfolio must show landing pages you've both designed and built. - Strong design instincts — you can look at a mood board or inspiration pull and produce something polished, not generic. - Conversion-focused — you understand layout hierarchy, CTA placement, and what makes people click. - Comfortable with Liquid, custom sections, and Shopify theme architecture. - Self-directed — you can take a brief and run with it. - Responsive, reliable, and able to turn around revisions quickly. - Experience with Shopify SEO best practices a plus. - Familiarity with Notion, Slack, and Figma a plus. To Apply Include a link to your portfolio (Shopify landing pages required — show us pages you designed *and* built), a note on your process for working from a brief without wireframes, and your hourly rate and weekly availability.

We are building the customer-facing layer of a specialized B2B platform for on-demand additive manufacturing. Engineers will use this storefront to upload CAD designs, receive AI-powered Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) analysis and instant quotes, compare options, place orders with approval workflows, and track production with full traceability. This is not a standard Shopify theme customization or generic DTC store build. It requires deep integration between Shopify and a custom backend platform, custom app development, B2B features, and handling of complex quoting/ordering flows. The engagement covers the MVP of the Shopify layer. Strong results can lead to ongoing work on future phases. MVP Scope (Shopify Layer) - Modern buyer storefront (Shopify theme or headless Hydrogen/Remix recommended) - Custom Shopify App that handles: - CAD file upload and secure handoff to backend - Display of AI-generated DfAM analysis and multiple supplier quotes - Quote comparison, selection, and order creation - Company/account management and multi-user approval workflows - B2B-focused features: company accounts, custom price lists/quoting, draft orders, net payment terms, and role-based visibility - Checkout customization or extensibility (Shopify Functions / Checkout Extensibility) to support complex order data and approvals - Webhooks and robust two-way sync between Shopify and the custom backend (orders, status updates, digital thread events) - Clean, well-documented code with proper error handling, logging, and security practices Later phases may include deeper personalization, advanced configurators, post-processing add-ons in checkout, and enhanced analytics. Key Technical Challenges - Building a reliable custom Shopify App with secure file handling and backend API integration - Displaying dynamic, AI-generated quotes and analysis inside the Shopify experience - Implementing B2B workflows (approvals, company accounts, draft orders) that sync cleanly with external systems - Maintaining performance and data consistency across Shopify and the custom platform - Production-grade practices: idempotency on syncs, proper error recovery, audit-friendly logging, and security for proprietary design files Tech Preferences Strong experience with Shopify Plus features, Custom App development (including billing API, webhooks, and Admin/Checkout extensions), and either traditional Liquid themes or headless (Hydrogen + Oxygen / Remix + Storefront API) is highly valued. Experience integrating Shopify with external APIs or complex backend systems is essential. We are open to your architecture recommendations with clear reasoning. Must-Have Experience - 4+ years professional Shopify development with production projects - Demonstrable experience building Custom Shopify Apps and/or headless Shopify storefronts - Strong integration skills (REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, reliable data synchronization) - Experience with B2B Shopify features (company accounts, custom pricing, draft orders, approval workflows) - Excellent communication, proactive updates, and ability to work with a separate backend team - Clean code practices, testing where critical, and proper documentation Nice-to-Have - Prior work on manufacturing, industrial, or quoting/configurator-type Shopify projects - Experience with Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensibility, or complex checkout customizations - Familiarity with file upload/processing flows or 3D/CAD-related interfaces - Experience working alongside custom backend teams (not just standalone Shopify stores) Engagement & Timeline MVP delivery targeted in 6–10 weeks with clear milestones and regular demos. Open to hourly or milestone-based pricing. There is strong potential for continued work on future phases for the right partner. How to Apply To help us move quickly with serious candidates, please include in your proposal: 1. A brief summary of why this project interests you and one relevant past project (with link or specific details) involving Custom Shopify App development, headless storefronts, or complex B2B integrations. 2. High-level thoughts on how you would structure the Shopify App + storefront integration with an external backend (key components, data flow for quotes/orders, error handling, and security for design files). 3. Your availability over the next 3 months and preferred pricing model (hourly rate or estimated range for the MVP scope). 4. Confirmation that you are comfortable with detailed code reviews, GitHub collaboration, and proactive communication. We value specific, real-world examples and clear technical thinking over generic proposals. Thoughtful applications will receive priority. Looking forward to reviewing strong submissions.

Job type: Fixed-price or hourly (open to either) Experience level: Expert Estimated duration: 4–8 weeks (Phase 1), with potential for ongoing work About the project We're a luxury home goods retailer with five Bay Area stores and a growing Shopify online store. We recently completed a full CRO and strategy audit, and the single largest opportunity it surfaced is our mobile experience. The numbers make the case on their own: Mobile is 76–90% of our traffic but converts at 0.20% vs. desktop's 1.41% — a 7x gap. The leak is at the top of the funnel: mobile add-to-cart rate is 0.66% vs. desktop's 5.63% (an 8.5x gap). Revenue per session is $0.28 on mobile vs. $2.45 on desktop — a 9x productivity gap. Importantly, mobile checkout already works (mobile completes checkout slightly better than desktop). The problem is entirely upstream — discovery, browsing, product pages, and adding to cart. We're not looking to reinvent the site. We're looking for an expert to close the gap between our mobile experience and the luxury-commerce standard our retail brand already meets. What we need you to do This is a defined scope of mobile-focused fixes. We have the audit findings; we need someone who can execute them cleanly on Shopify. 1. Mobile performance (highest priority) Our mobile site is slow and heavy, and it's costing us conversions. Current state: Largest Contentful Paint of ~10 seconds (target threshold is 2.5s), page weight of 3.4 MB (2x best practice), SpeedVitals Grade D / 44%. Goal: bring mobile LCP from ~10s down to 3–4s. Expected work: reduce JavaScript blocking time, preload the hero image, convert images to modern formats (WebP/AVIF), and reduce overall page weight. 2. Mobile product detail page (PDP) conversion elements Our PDPs are missing standard conversion elements that competitors (Williams Sonoma, Perigold, Gracious Style) treat as table stakes: Sticky Add-to-Cart that stays visible while scrolling (currently the button disappears once users scroll past it). Customer reviews and ratings (platform install — e.g., Judge.me or Yotpo). Estimated delivery dates and delivery urgency messaging. Structured shipping, return, and care information. Trust indicators (free shipping, ships-from, in-store availability). 3. Mobile UX fixes Our audit identified twelve mobile-specific issues. The most material: Low text contrast in hero blocks where overlay text sits on busy, light-toned background images (currently fails accessibility standards). No "Continue Shopping" CTA in the cart drawer — users have to manually close it. No back-to-top button on long pages. No active-tab highlight in the mobile hamburger menu. Oversized mega menus on small screens — across all top-nav categories, the menu covers most of the viewport and forces in-menu scrolling. Needs to be resized to fit a single viewport with surrounding content still visible. 4. Cart drawer redesign (mobile + desktop) Add a "Continue Shopping" CTA that returns the user to their last-browsed collection. Add a two-product "You'll Also Love These" recommendation block with single-click add-to-cart. Required skills & experience Deep Shopify expertise — theme development, Liquid, and a proven track record optimizing conversion on Shopify storefronts. Mobile-first CRO — demonstrable experience improving mobile conversion rates, not just visual polish. Core Web Vitals / performance optimization — concrete examples of reducing LCP and page weight on real stores (please cite before/after numbers). PDP and cart UX — experience implementing sticky CTAs, review platforms, trust blocks, and cart-drawer recommendations. Accessibility awareness — comfortable resolving contrast and usability issues. Bonus: experience with luxury / premium e-commerce brands, where polish and brand integrity matter as much as the conversion lift. To apply, please include 2–3 Shopify stores where you improved mobile conversion or page speed — with before/after metrics if you have them. A short note on how you'd sequence this work (what you'd tackle first and why). Your experience with review platforms (Judge.me, Yotpo, or similar) and sticky-CTA / cart-drawer implementations. Your availability and estimated timeline for the scope above. We have a detailed audit document we can share with the selected candidate. Looking forward to your proposal.
