Your Opportunity We're seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to work directly with our Senior Tech Lead and CEO. This is a development-first role. You'll spend the majority of your time designing, building, integrating, troubleshooting, and improving the ProviderNow platform. You'll own meaningful technical initiatives from design through deployment while partnering closely with our Senior Tech Lead to build secure, scalable, and maintainable software. We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving difficult engineering problems, and shipping high-quality code quickly. What You'll Do Design, develop, and maintain backend services using PHP (Laravel). Develop modern frontend functionality using JavaScript. Design, build, and own integrations with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, provider networks, pharmacy partners, payment platforms, and other third-party APIs. Ensure healthcare and application data is transmitted, processed, and stored securely. Build secure, scalable REST APIs and backend services. Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions. Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented code. Participate in architecture discussions and contribute practical engineering recommendations. Collaborate closely with the Senior Tech Lead on feature planning, code reviews, and technical execution. Work within Azure DevOps using Boards, Repos, Pull Requests, Pipelines, and CI/CD best practices. Develop and maintain queues, scheduled jobs, background processes, and asynchronous workflows. Continuously improve platform performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate has: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. Strong experience building production applications with PHP and Laravel. Strong JavaScript experience. Experience designing and integrating REST APIs and third-party services. Experience working with Azure DevOps, including Boards, Repos, Pull Requests, and Pipelines. Experience troubleshooting production systems and complex software issues. Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, API security, and secure application development. Experience building scalable backend systems. Experience working with queues, asynchronous processing, scheduled jobs, and background workers. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A bias toward action with a passion for shipping high-quality, production-ready software. We’re looking for engineers who enjoy owning features from design through deployment, not developers who simply complete assigned tickets. You should be comfortable thinking beyond the code by identifying potential issues, recommending improvements, collaborating across the team, and taking ownership of delivering high-quality solutions. We operate a multi-location car wash business utilizing a centralized POS system. We are seeking an experienced freelance or contract developer to lead a custom API and website integration project. This project will establish a scalable, secure integration between the POS and multiple digital platforms, including internal mobile apps, internal tools, customer-facing mobile app, and a customer-facing website. We have existing mobile and web applications that can be reviewed as examples and are planning on documenting as much as possible about the current system setup. This role requires strong experience in API design, system integrations, and WordPress plugin development, along with the ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders. The goal is to create a single POS-integrated API layer that can power: • Internal location tools (mobile and web apps) • Site Operations • Membership Enrollment • A customer mobile app • Integrating API connection to the POS via plugin or other integration to our website (WordPress based) Work is split into phases to reduce risk and validate integrations early.
