I’ve been editing and proofreading since 2014, working with projects ranging from academic essays, fiction, employee handbooks, software manuals, AI- generated content, and slides for a medical student app. I make four passes through manuscripts for a typical project, focusing on spelling, grammar, punctuation, phrasing, flow, conciseness, and continuity. The fourth pass also checks over my work. Occasionally, I’ll add a pass or two, depending on a client’s request. I’ve been using the Chicago Manual of Style since the seventh edition and carry a hard copy of the newest edition when I travel in case I need to use it. I’m also familiar with APA and MLA. I’m a self-starter, well-organized, self-sufficient, and I hold confidentiality in high regard. I won’t hesitate to ask if I’m unsure about an instruction or need clarification.
